Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hard to tell...probably. We can talk just fine about things he built 50 years ago, but he can't retain facts from the present like no, that lady on the other side of the room is NOT Marilyn (his wife who passed away in Nov.) Or the electric razor isn't broken, it needs to charge up, then it will work. Two minutes later he's asking me again to take him to Walmart to exchange it.

It's really as much my problem, as it bothers me to see him this way, and worrying about how much worse it's going to become. Also it scares the crap out of me that in 22 years, I might be the same way??

My kid's great aunt who used to watch the youngest all the time started getting dementia at the end, but she could recall things that she did in the 40's and 50's like it was yesterday...

Mom and I had a talk about dying when she was battling cancer and her overweight condition was hindering her. She was stuck in a "fat body suit" that she couldn't get out of. She couldn't exercise to help loose weight because of the weight and arthritis and other body pains.

She had presence of mind until the day she died, but would have rather not. It was so discouraging for her to be stuck with a failing body and KNOW IT, and not be able to do anything about it. She would have rather had her mind go and not realize what was going on with her body....

Take the meds and enjoy the ride and not know what's happening to you, vs knowing what's happening to you and not be able to do anything about it was more frustrating.... I agree with her, that I would rather be clueless than helpless...

It's sad to know that you're dying and waiting for the suffering to the end, helpless...

Alzheimer's? I have reached a point where I worry some about just passing away suddenly - but you can't, you gotta forge forward and live for today - so many stories of people having an embolism or heart attack before their 50th... scary stuff IF you allow yourself to dwell on it..

I would rather drop dead suddenly, than have a long painful suffering...

I want to die in my sleep, like my grandfather. Not screaming and yelling, like the passengers in his car...

Who farted???

My family went thru the dementia problem with my father in law. WOW! I quit my job to take care of him and boy what a job I took on to be his caregiver.. One second he hates me, the next, and I do mean the next second, "Timmie, can you get me some ice cream?". Very tough to deal with this, let me tell you. I told my wife if I get like that to please shoot me, I said if she got that way I would shoot her! Just a joke but you get the idea. THANK GOD he passed away, had a huge stroke. I did the best I could to care for him, he would think the stranger, me, was trying to poison him and not take his blood pressure medication. He stashed them under his mattress. IMO people that go thru this tribulation should get a gold plated halo in heaven!

it's messed up though - "we" don't want to loose someone we love suddenly because we want a chance to say goodbye.. conversely, "we" don't want someone we love to suffer either.. if they die suddenly "we" don't get to say goodbye... and that sucks. If they linger and suffer, "we" do get to say goodbye, but they typically are suffering and that sucks too... take what you can get and enjoy the hell out of it.. remember the good and celebrate the life..

When he was lucid, he was a joy. We would be playing a game of Chess, in the middle, who the hell are you and where the hell am I!! I was the only one in the family that could keep him "under control". It was a illusion tho...

I guess I've been "lucky" - nearly everyone I've lost has passed suddenly.. as I said, it does have it's down side, but I am glad that they did not suffer..

Yeah, I'm still working from home. I'm on a conference call that got boring so I jumped on FABO to see what's going on.

I hate having to be in a 2 hour meeting just to be a babysitter and keep people from screwing up.

I hate to sound like an ingrate for wanting changes but if possible I would change just a couple of things

1. I would change both vehicles to have body colored wheels with dodge dog dishes

2. I would change the duster in the back ground to a demon which is done by changing the stripe from a duster stripe to a demon stripe.

3. I would change the color of the demon to Y1 Top Banana

Only reason for the demon is because my actual demon is going to be top banana with body colored wheels and red line dodge dog dishes when I get done with it.

The wheels are a pretty easy change but the Yellow Demon swap is going to take a little bit of work. I'll get something worked up by this evening when I get a little time. :)

Thanks.....if it is too much work then just leave it,......it's already greatness :prayer:
