Yeah, and they know I went went way beyond what I was originally intending to do. It's just really nice to see him smile. Made it worthwhile on my end.Congrats sir.. Kinda nice when your hard work is appreciated!
famous last words... as long as ALL you do is paint it'll go quickly.. but that NEVER happensYep! Think a Harley tear down and paint is next on the to do list. That shouldn't take too long.
that's what she saidThe big reason I am changing to a different size.
I already got it back running and all where the fire dept cut the battery cables and the wiring harness in the process. I'm just going to fix the skinned pieces and put it back together.famous last words... as long as ALL you do is paint it'll go quickly.. but that NEVER happens
why did they cut the cables?I already got it back running and all where the fire dept cut the battery cables and the wiring harness in the process. I'm just going to fix the skinned pieces and put it back together.
That's what they do in a wreck. Cut power to the battery. Especially if there is fuel on the ground.why did they cut the cables?

man i feel for you all running 15 inch tires..... looks like pickings are fairly thin. So I'll probably buy a second set for the polara when i get the rims from Tim. and pray they dont dry rot by the time i need them
selection in 14's is even worse...But I still wouldn't buy extras unless you plan to burn them off frequently. The big reason I am changing to a different size.
Lot of variables in what people will mount, run, repair, but seems the OK age keeps getting shorter. I see that 'over 6 years' is now considered out of date. Some say up to 10 with regular inspection. Another place I read that a 5 year old tire must be sold as used and anything over ten tire shops are not supposed to do anything but replace. So if you have an extra set sitting for 9 years... You get them installed and after a year you have an issue - a 'legit' tire shop can't help you even if the tire still looks brand new.
My 66 has 14's on it. Brand new hockey pucks, BFG. About the only brand that gives you a choice in sizes in a '14.selection in 14's is even worse...But I still wouldn't buy extras unless you plan to burn them off frequently.Lot of variables in what people will mount, run, repair, but seems the OK age keeps getting shorter. Then that's not an issue. Do you have a temperature/humidity controlled place to store them? If not, I would still say it's a bad investment. With so many old cars still on the road, I think someone will continue to make them available. Sure the price will go up, but not enough that I would stash tires away.yeah but when you have youre own mounting and balancing machine....... why do i need a shop
They are available from others as well. Depends a lot on what size you want. I got Uniroyal Tiger Paws for mine last year 215 70 14 -whitewallMy 66 has 14's on it. Brand new hockey pucks, BFG. About the only brand that gives you a choice in sizes in a '14.
Agree, if you are running a standard size, like you are. If you are trying to stuff as much rubber as will fit, you need a wide selection of sizes to chose from. BFG fits the bill in 14's.They are available from others as well. Depends a lot on what size you want. I got Uniroyal Tiger Paws for mine last year 215 70 14 -whitewall
well - first you gotta modify the car...Agree, if you are running a standard size, like you are. If you are trying to stuff as much rubber as will fit, you need a wide selection of sizes to chose from. BFG fits the bill in 14's.

yes/no. Temperature controlled, yes, humidity controlled, to a point. I just worry about dry rot. Granted, I'd probably use them as wagon tires if they did start going bad, You're probably right about it being a waste to try to store them. Then that's not an issue.
