Mornin, folks! Happy Friday to you and yours. Gonna finish up the steering column today and get it painted. It was a lot of work stripping it!
Oh man I bet, I did a steering column for a friend that had a red int, the column was green and I was glad to get a coat of sealer/primer on it. it was for a 72 chebby truck, getting it painted and cleared seems I used a bunch of paint too

Mine was green and surface rust. So I brought it down to bare metal. I used 3M Rolocs on a 90 die grinder. But still, working on something round like that is slow going. Gonna paint it black to match the rest of the interior.
The 59 regent i did power steering swap. Needed original column top half and donor column bottom half. Was not an easy task. Plus original was three on the tree. Glad it went to floor shift.
Have had to repair many modern columns so it was nice to not have to deal tilt or ignition switch and wiring.
