Well had a slight break thru finally in the polara.... been fighting the last lug nut... assuming that it was left hand threads like the other 4, well I happened to hit it counterclockwise with my new impact and it busted it loose...... :BangHead: so at some point, someone replaced the stud with a right hand stud but left the other 4 left hand
don't the lefty's usually have an L on the end? Been a long time since I ran across them...

So,last guy to touch it cheaped out or got lazy. Perhaps its an old school way of locking the wheels....

Friday low was -38.
Today’s high temp is-3
I like today better.
The cantankerous yamaha did start this morning. With a whiff of ether. Drained gas, refilled with premium non ethanol, will see in morning what goes on.
Dont yell at me about the ether, its not like the good old stuff that will set a tire bead.

Or... he went to a local parts store and said "I need a left hand stud" to a guy with a stud in his left hand who said "what?".
Yep.

Here's the question though..... this 8.75 has an axle nut, pretty sure I have to pull that off to remove the drum

Or why go through the trouble to change all the studs when you only broke one... If a shop broke the stud, they would only replace that one...

I have the puller, its big. And snap on.
Could very well be the same rear i have very near my scrap pile,it is 8-3/4 but not desireable.

yeah or that. Karl, you ever rebuilt one of these 8.75s? I've never dealt with one with this retainer nut

Yeah, most upgrade to the newer years. And I may down the road myself but for now, I just have to get this rear drum rolling
