Just doing what I do
Glad you are past it.Ahhh...that was 18 years ago. Not an issue anymore.
It does show how deeply the emotional effect of losing a long term job can go.

They certainly can be if we let them.Actually things have worked out ok for me. But it does cause a lot of problems. Our jobs are a large part of our identity.
Ask them for a loan...and watch them evaporate! And im some dumb redneck on a boat with 800 bank employees...

Yep. 26years. Worked my way up from ice bagger to Facility Service Manager. Wasn't as sudden as your guy, but pretty sucky situation. After several ownership changes over the years, I felt I had a solid position running maintenance for 2 facilities. But, when a merger turned into a takeover things changed. My long-time manager left before me and it went downhill fast. They had assumed control. I continued to work longer hours with less resources and more responsibilities, but was impossible to do everything they wanted.. Skipping the gory details, but I got pushed out the door...Question...Any one ever lose a job after over 20 years? A good job......How did you deal with it?
But you should be there for posterity or the posteriorsMorning.
Well it was 65 yesterday. Currently 50 with 20mph winds and gusting to God only knows.
Eagles game this afternoon. Typical asshole weather people lied all week about game day weather.
Oh it will be mid around 40 and calm wind.
Bullshit. More like in low 30s with highwind and low teens wind chill.
Sold my tickets for a nice profit.
