Stop in for a cup of coffee

Actually things have worked out ok for me. But it does cause a lot of problems. Our jobs are a large part of our identity.

And I didn't tell that for pity....It sucked back then and I wasn't fit to be around but heck life is too fun to mope around over a woman...LOL and hey we were married 23 years :realcrazy:

They certainly can be if we let them.

It's part of the reason I hang out here. It helps keep me grounded in who a truly am beyond the job I do. I'm just another car guy who likes hanging out with friends...and what they do for a job doesn't matter.

And im some dumb redneck on a boat with 800 bank employees...

Almost 1AM and its 61F outside
(would be awesome if it wasn't raining)
. From here it will drop - expected to be single digit by 6AM Sunday. :wtf:

Question...Any one ever lose a job after over 20 years? A good job......How did you deal with it?
Yep. 26years. Worked my way up from ice bagger to Facility Service Manager. Wasn't as sudden as your guy, but pretty sucky situation. After several ownership changes over the years, I felt I had a solid position running maintenance for 2 facilities. But, when a merger turned into a takeover things changed. My long-time manager left before me and it went downhill fast. They had assumed control. I continued to work longer hours with less resources and more responsibilities, but was impossible to do everything they wanted.. Skipping the gory details, but I got pushed out the door...
It sucked, but I accepted that the situation had changed and that I needed to move on. Easier said than done...
I was off work from May 2013 till Jan 2014. Spent my time searching for work and working on the Duster. Ended up in a temp job at Harley for 6 months before I got what I thought was a good maintenance job. Worked there almost 3 years till they closed our plant. Out of work again from April till Sept of last year. Now in a promising roll with a solid company. But no longer assuming anything....

Wow....very little talk since I went to bed last night. Keith was on at 1:30 but I am the first this morning

The ship finally stopped moving.
Today is walkabout....

Morning.
Well it was 65 yesterday. Currently 50 with 20mph winds and gusting to God only knows.
Eagles game this afternoon. Typical asshole weather people lied all week about game day weather.
Oh it will be mid around 40 and calm wind.
Bullshit. More like in low 30s with highwind and low teens wind chill.
Sold my tickets for a nice profit.

TJ...something wrong with you. You are addicted to this coffee thread. But then so am I

20 degrees :( I just let Buddy go out side and he hit the first bush and turned around and came back in, it was nice to not feel any wind blowing for a change

Morning was actually t shirt weather here yesterday, now a dusting of white crap on the lawn like from the movie the BIRDS! was filmed here.

Mornin, fellas! I hope everyone has a relaxing and or profitable weekend. Today is dashpad day. I have never made one before so this should be interesting! The goal is no sewing and no seams. Not sure I can pull that off! But I do have the correct foam, vinyl, and landeau top adhesive.
