on the other hand there are wrongly accused people getting cleared because of it.My daughter just told me she sent her DNA to 23andme site. ONLY way the get my DNA is court order. Way too many unsolved crimes out there looking for a patsy.
When I see this, I really wonder how accurate DNA is, in real life.on the other hand there are wrongly accused people getting cleared because of it.
Is this real life? I was kinda hoping it was just a dress rehearsal...When I see this, I really wonder how accurate DNA is, in real life.

Its pretty damn accurate. The odds of finding the same DNA profile as yours in the general population are 1 in 930,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.When I see this, I really wonder how accurate DNA is, in real life.
Knowing this, how do they get DNA wrong? Has it gotten more accurate over the years? Meaning able to isolate a peculiar person just by there "left behind" DNA. Like at a crime scene. Ability to collect a clean sample. Its pretty damn accurate. The odds of finding the same DNA profile as yours in the general population are 1 in 930,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
DNA testing is far more accurate today than it was in the past. They look at far greater numbers of sequences now.Knowing this, how do they get DNA wrong? Has it gotten more accurate over the years? That's a lot of zeros...Its pretty damn accurate. The odds of finding the same DNA profile as yours in the general population are 1 in 930,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.
Yep. It would take more than 122 trillion times the current population to reach that number. That's a lot of zeros...
Since there are 'only' 7.6B people, that's kinda very very extremely unlikely then?
wait, what?! Professor Hawking died?!All This mathIs this a reaction to the passing of Stephan Hawking?
Yep. He was 76wait, what?! Professor Hawking died?!
well shoot.Yep. He was 76
that one there is my favorite. Smart cookie. The world is now dumber just like that with his passing. Some of my favorite Hawking quotes...
— “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge.”
Mr 60 Minutes missed one.wait, what?! Professor Hawking died?!

Mr 60 minutes is dead. After the discussion with Dave last night, I realized he's right, I spend too much time worrying about the news. So for the first time in YEARS, I am not reading the news. So far, so good.Mr 60 Minutes missed one.![]()
That is good. I tell my wife this too often. She gets wrapped up in stories that just don't concern us. She will start reciting details and I will flat out tell her 'I don't care' . Sorry, but most of what the media makes into big news is background noise to me.Mr 60 minutes is dead. I had the positive coming out of the ballast resistor going to the negative side of the coil instead of the positive. Which means it probably wasn't charging the distributor with enough juice to make the spark.
Gonna have to switch those leads and see what happens.I'm staying off every news page and social media page except for this one and FBBO.That is good. I tell my wife this too often. That said I am not oblivious to what is going on either. The Stephen Hawking story is currently on the front page, breaking news etc of probably every news/media...
