I found it in the link you put up - a 1973 bulletin. The signal from the reluctor pickup INTERUPTS the circuit.... So it is a normally closed transistor in the ECU.

Lol so it closes the neg on the coil NPN transistor. Thought it was the coil we were talking about I am so confused as usual!

The coil looks like a can with a nipple and two posts on top.. NP is Mitch.. Bruce Jenner is the transistor... Clear now?
