Stop in for a cup of coffee

It won't take long to refesh on the basics of the key stuff. If you're in reasonable shape - plan on walking as much as you can. To give you some perspective, we parked near Meade's HQ, walked along the front to the left flank around Little Round Top and then along the road back to the car. My recollection was it took roughly 3- 4 hours. I think we arrived at Meade's around 6 pm and it was 10 pm when we got to the Gettyburg diner in town.

Gettysburg is one of a handful of park's where its common for visitors to use (pay) private tour guides. Some are supposed to be very good. But if you're already familiar with the events, you'll be fine no matter what you do.
I'd have no problem with a self guided tour. Lots of walking, not a problem for us. I'm not sure if I might be more excited going to Gettysburg or Carlisle.

Gettysburg is a full day for sure and HOT check out the national Civil War museum for sure a few hours and right by Carlisle Barrack is the Army heritage center also. A lot of history around here.

Yep wife was reading and telling me about the museum at Carlisle. They have a Huey ride simulated to Vietnam.

My Dad was a Huey pilot in Vietnam, flew out of Da Nang (northern end). Will have to do that one for sure.

I gotta go feed the dog...

Sounds good. The geography of the Union left/Confederate Right is very clear. I haven't spent time by the Seminary where so much happened on July 2 - day 1 - that's what I want to do next. I think the georgraphy of the action West & closest to town may be an area where a guide might be most helpful. ??

We are actually planning in two days for Gettysburg. I'm sure its not enough, but will give me a feel. I'm sure when we come back to Carlisle in the future this will always be a side trip.

Well I've been called, off to the MNL's for the day...later.

Crazy question, does scrolling on your computer or phone make you nauseous? Sometimes it's like a bad carnival ride. Motion sickness.
