Well, as silly as the idea was, it worked!!
The drive motor is from an electric trailer dolly i bought used for $30.
Cut notches in the sprocket and bolted it to diff yoke. A bar to keep motor from spinning and a fully charged battery. It drives 100’ into storage. It goes about parade speed. Maybe slower.

That makes sense now. Couldn't figure out what the loose bar was. You might be on to something.
