Stop in for a cup of coffee

That would be great. I truly only need 1 groove as just water pump and alternator.
Ok, I’ll check around tomorrow. IF I can get to the farm. It’s surrounded by a 100 year flood ... just 10 years after the last “100 year flood”

Thanks! Careful. Not a huge rush. Be safe. We are looking at -10° here tonight. Spent 2 hours in junkyard today. Cold but always a good day when out in a yard...

This is why I said 50 years ago wouldn’t have been a bad time to be alive.

Hey Karl,
Just barely keeping my eyes open. I took a nap this afternoon. That's why I'm up so late.

Was hoping to change front brake pads on Neon in the AM. Not thinking that will be much fun with 20F and 20MPH wind. Garage is full of junk right now, so not getting in there. Maybe Sunday. Not exactly gonna be nice, but Will be a little above freezing with hardly any wind

Can someone educate me on Big Block crank shaft pulleys? I froze in sub zero wind chills to search out some pulleys. I got 2 water pump pulleys and 1 crank pulley but it appears it has 1 set of close holes for the bolt pattern. Is there a difference between steel crank pulleys and the cast crank pulleys like mine?

Some pulleys and vibration dampers have symmetrical bolt pattern, and some offset bolt pattern...

However, if you rotate the pulley on the "other" kind, you can get it so only one hole is mis-matched... You can take a die grinder and oval out that hole and make it fit the opposite pattern if that's all you have....

Procrastination is a wonderful thing.... :D

I'll tell you about it later....

Thanks guys. I checked every set of holes while looking straight at it and there us always 1 set of holes off. The grooves will line up perfect if it would bolt on. Being that it located hub centrically, could I just open up the off hole or all of them?

You can get away with opening up just one hole...

(That's what she said.... :D)

So apparently I can’t type when I quote a message for some reason. Early LA crank pullies were different than the Big blocks. And the poly pullies are as well. If you have an RV 440, the later ones, there were some differences but if you want, I can look tomorrow, I should have the pulley you need laying around somewheres

Are you pulleying his leg??? :D
