Stop in for a cup of coffee

Time to rustle up some breakfast, everything bagel with smoked salmon, cream cheese, onion, dill, and I like to add pickles too. I am not Jewish but once in a great while I like it. Catch up with y'all shortly.

Dang, it hits the spot! Could use a bloody Mary but...

Not much for today's movies but I think I found one worth going to see, They Shall Not Grow Old, about WWI. That time period is very interesting to me. People were starting to get cars and modern conveniences, while the old ways were still going on.

This is the 75th anniversery of Sports Car Club of America.
I actually find it a little troubling that it was created by a bunch of guys interested in preserving sporting cars during wartime, 1944. Somehow this context is never mentioned or discussed. That's the most troubling part.

Bee's wax and mineral oil. He included a nice page of care instructions. I thought about the walnut being kind of soft too, but I just like how it looks, and any cutting board is going to show wear.
The cherry will darken somewhat if it is heartwood.
Slice the food not the board, it will last longer.

Beleive it or not I've been a piece of leftover southern yellow pine for my regular cutting board for at least 10 years now. 5/4 stair tread - not glued!

Morning All...woke with a migraine today...woohoo me. Got a handle on it, now a nice fire and watching Roadkill Classics while waiting for the snow to start. 3" predicted...we will see.

I think I'll farm the coffee out to McD's today :D. We have a special event here tomorrow. Cracker Barrel grand opening. The 3rd in Ca. If this valley's past performance is a preview, you won't be able to get into the place for the next 3 months . Just go nutz for new eating places.

My everyday cutting board was made by my uncle when he was in HS shop class :D.
It's a laminate about 16" x 3" turned on a lathe with little lathe cut matching feet underneath. Has to be 70 yrs old.

Gotta say, there are 3 guys at work who have been to Cracker Barrel’s in the south and just rave about them So when we got one up in Sacramento I had to check it out. Took my oldest son with me to pick up the driveshaft in Sacramento one morning and decided to hit the Cracker Barrel. Was not up to the reviews that I was given by coworkers. Not impressed. Now I haven’t given up on them. At some point I will need to check out the dinner options. But for now if I want a decent breakfast i’ll hit Black Bear Diner or make it myself.

Black Bear we have one. They have some really good stuff goin' on there. Where is that drooling emoji?
Kids took me to Cracker Barrel in Phx. It was good, beat's Denney's. Fun kickin' around in the little store for a few minutes. And another thunder shower out there

We have a local restaurant up the street that has a few locations throughout Iowa and some neighboring states. Village Inn. They have good food, great breakfasts and skillets
