Stop in for a cup of coffee

We went down for a car show. At a small college where they offer the only four year auto restoration Camaro 427 4 speed convertible special build by some Chevy guru. Anyway it was a good time, probably the most organized show I'd ever attended.

Our show on the other hand was the trip from hell. We laughed about it on the way home.
It all started when we got to the hotel. Pulled into a small parking lot and had to make a very tight turn with the 22' trailer. In doing so the electric cord from the trailer to truck got pinched and almost cut in half. Dash light says check trailer hook up do and find that....chit!!
So Loves service center a couple blocks away, load up and go over there its 8pm. Guy looks at it says he can slice it and give me lights come back at 7am. Go back to hotel and park and go to eat 9pm.
Walking back from eating and daughter in Japan text me "we have incoming missiles coming our way freaking out with her two kids, hubby is at work. So deal with that for 45 minutes. Just dumbass test firing his short range.
Go over next morning after a very restless night and get the wired splice.
Head to the trailer parking area a grass field. Pull in and wonder why the other two trailers and parked in the middle....its a mud pit.
Had to drop mine in 4wd low gear and crawl out. We find a place on pavement to park.
Get on the trailer and winch battery is dead...what else.
Push the car forward and wife unhooks the strap. I crawl in and back it off.
Shut it off to lock up the trailer. We jump in to go and the car won't start...ugh!! Messed with it for 30 minutes and got it going. Off to the show!!
We were really thinking we weren't suppose to go to this show?? haha!!
We'll remember this one for a LONG time!!
Sounds like you made it out alive. One of those weekends that if it was to happen it did.

Well the only part I left off was when we went to load Cheryl was trying to unlock the trailer lock and darn near broke the key off. Lucky I had another key.
Then I had to convince her to stand inside the side door and make sure it looked like I was coming on the trailer straight.
I promised her I wouldn't run her over...haha.
I told her we were going to take some time and we're going to conduct some hands on training loading, tying down, and unloading the car. She's watched me do it all several times, she just needs to do it all and feel comfortable.
Never know when we might be out and I get hurt or something.

I could have held her camera!
No it would a been "Hey girl take a picture of this______" (fill in the blank many answers with Ben and Tike involved just saying).
Hmm thinking...oh yea then she stomps out and now Ray's in HOT water...no wedding pics...I know why you guys weren't there.

Definitely lightened the moment. I do have to say the new in-laws are great. I always got along with them but never really spent time with them before. Just a good group. Glad it is over now and mom is no longer stressed out. Her sister is here right now, and she saw most of her family also.

Congrats!!! :D

Happy Sunday to all. Congrats Hoppy for your daughter. 72 and sunny here but a chance of thunderstorms later. Have to go move a 1969 Satellite up from my uncle's 2nd garage this aft. Probably the only time it rains.
