Stop in for a cup of coffee

If you agreed to a price that included shipping then I'd say its good and you don't owe anymore.
Its his job to ensure that shipping price is accurate and covered.

I have done that not posted it. I just sucked it up as a lesson learned.

I got burned on shipping a couple times. Splitting shipping with him would be a fair deal for both of you.
true, yes and yes

best thing.... put yourself in his shoes, if it's a big enough difference I would offer to split it, he might have something else you want someday......

Hey Mike I finally figured out those big numbers on the distribs by accident. Still no idea what they mean! They are after the part number in the listings you sent me!

All valid points. That said, if the shipping was quoted at say 60 bucks and it was 65, no big deal. But if the shipping was quoted at 30 bucks but was 65, that’s on the seller for not getting an accurate quote. Been on both ends of that mistake. As a seller, I eat it, even if it means I go a bit into the hole. As a buyer, I usually offer to split the difference.

what did you pay him for shipping?
I offered him his asking price including shipping and he didnt even counter and agreed right away.

Same here

Wow it must of been either big and heavy, or from Canada??
It was fairly large. I was thinking I would wait until I got it to make sure of the condition of the item and then if its all good split the shipping with him.

Going into what car??? If a Dart its going to be very tight to the front lip of the wheel well. Thats a 28" tall x 10.8" wide tire.

Tire Size Calculator

1971 Demon. The section width with a tape measure on the current rear tires is 10.5 and they fit pretty good. They only have 2.5" backspacing but i have just shy of 2" to the leaf springs. Seems like a waste. Not a great pic of what is on there now. Biased ply and dont' remember the size.

It'll be a tight fit, but if you're wanting width, you could drop to a 26 inch tire and go up to nearly a 11.5 wide tire and clear with that BS.

I would get a tire/rim fitment tool first though.

Im going to run this by you guys for your thoughts. I bought something on here and offered the guy what he was asking to include shipping. He agreed and we got it all set up. He shipped the item out, sent me the tracking number, but then also put in the message just so you know shipping was $65... Not asking me to pay more, but I got the feeling he wanted me to pitch in more money.. What would you guys do?
Depends how significant the DIFFERENCE was in the TOTAL price. If I paid a few hundred total and the shipping was 65 instead of 55. No, I would not do anything. If it was say $100 or less for the item and shipping was expected to be 25 and went to 65... I would probably split the $40 diff and send him 20. On the other hand, I would want to know how it was shipped. If it could have gone ground and he bumped it to 2nd day, I would be reluctant to pick up any extra if I did not ask for a rush.

The ad was for a pair of mufflers. He was asking $125 plus shipping. I offered $125 shipped, which he agreed to right away. Im not sure how he shipped them so I was going to wait until I got them to make sure they are all good, then possibly send him a bit more. At the same time, I dont feel obligated because he was responsible for checking shipping costs and could of countered my offer.
