Pilot ejected, managed to avoid falling on the freeway. Ground persons some cuts and scrapes. Warehouse sprinklers killed the fire in short order. Hydraulic failure, plane pancaked through the roof.

Got to see the Amgen Tour of California pass by yesterday. 100+ guys in spandex on bicycles that cost more than my RAM 1500, not my idea of a spectator sport. Leader pedalin' his *** off and 100 wheel suckers behind him in his draft. The fun part was watching the Lexus SUV support vehicles behind them dicing for position .

At the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit one year, we took my son's good Canadian friend - Roman... :D

While we were cruising, there were many of those bicycle 'enthusiasts' on the road, getting in the way of us cruising... :steering: :mob:
So we took our super soaker squirt guns and started blasting them... One guy in spandex came up to us yelling at us for squirting him... So we squirted him some more until he left...

When we dropped Roman off at home and he told his dad the story, his dad said that "Any guy wearing spandex deserves to get squirt"... :realcrazy:

We had his full support for our actions...

He also picked up some old vintage 10 speed bicycles...

The green Schwinn Varsity is for me.... :D

Here's two that he got to ride... One Schwinn Caliente and a Free Spirit which was a Sears brand if I remember correctly...

Look at the different length fenders on the two... The Free Spirit has just short ones, and the Caliente has a 90° coverage on the front tire and 180° coverage on the back...

I like it and I really like that cafe racer

Thanks!!

He's really getting into the old school enduros.... He buys them not running and gets them running, then flips them for a few $$$$...

He's getting really good at rebuilding the carbs and getting them running....

The purple one has electric start, but the battery is weak... He's charging it up to see if it will hold a charge...

But he kicked started it and it fired right up on the first kick....

Ok so just got home from work then bone yard. Got a new good BB trans, torque converter and slip yoke...an 8 3/4 b body rear with springs and 11" brakes, a set of 15x7 Squad car wheels and 2 - 26" big block radiators. Good day I would say.

U bolts and eye bolts didnt show.
No rear springs until next week.
Guess dart goes into storage.

Just spent 40 minutes on the phone with the auto wrecker that supplied transmission. Customer left out a few details, now i need to repeat all the tests again. But im not touching it without a replacement solenoid pack. Gives me the chance to fool transmission.

Here's some cool old stickers from my tool box from when I was 19... Some good old school ones when I worked in the garage at Sears...
