Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hey guys. Well, Mayo didn't tell us what we wanted to hear. I need open heart surgery to fix my mitral valve and they will do a bypass or two as needed while they're in there. :BangHead::BangHead:

My ex was diagnosed with mitral valve prolapse when we were in our 20s. Dr told us "10% of the people in the world have it and only 10% of those know it". My uncle was a good example of that. Not a hint of it until he had his teeth cleaned by his ex, yes, she was a licensed dental assistant and he got an infection in the heart valve. He said she was trying to kill him . One of my buds had his first valve replacement in his 20s, a piggy valve. Wore that one out, they put in a mechanical valve. Every once in a while when it was real quiet and we were stuck in a confined area working on rock plant stuff I could hear his valve clicking :realcrazy:. He runs 4 miles a day now, so it must still be workin' properly.

I took a audio of my noisy valve and posted it on you tube. I can't hear the sound on my laptop but I can hear it on my phone. LOL

Surgery scheduled for July 18. I don't know if I will go to Carlisle. Reschedule!!!!!
LOL
As much as I would like to say 'F it and go...' Gotta play it smart when your ticker is involved. I would be checking with doc to see if they have an issue with such trips. You will probably be healthier than the rest of us when its done.

Interesting you mention that. They stressed good dental health and I got a release form my dentist needs to sign and fax to Mayo before surgery. They said that many mouth infections can cause heart issues.

Carlisle will be the weekend before. I should probably stay home and do laundry before I go to the hospital for a week. LOL

Ex had to take anti-biotics before ANY dental work was done for just that reason.

Would think there would be washout ports somewhere.
I would start with checking flow of coolant.you said it heats up really quick,so its a bad pump, thermostat stuck closed or leaking combusted gases into cooling system.

Seawater side, looks simple enough, but its in such a tight enclosure it will be hard to get anything apart to check.

Plan is to replace it all. Owner's manual actually calls for water pump replacement every 36 months and Thermostat replacement every 24 months.

So I have a crazy idea. IF the inline 6 in the boat is toast, wonder if I could find a Marine 12 valve cummins and swap in.

Make sure the Crisco kid doesn't slide off any barstools. LOL :poke:@Sublime one

Good Morning
