Never used one, but the deeper, double ribs in the original will resist flex WAY more than what you have there. What is that? 1/4? So yeah, one of the bigger dies for sure...

So, i shitcanned the holley and dropped on an eddy. 2 minutes and i already have improvement at idle. I have a couple hours fiddling with the holley,and not gaining any ground. At least now i can maybe set timing and get it to idle in gear. Im going deaf dealing with the open headers.
 
I'm back from the body shop, dropped off the steering column and hardware. Body man told me the duster's not straight all the way into the firewall so worse than I thought. While that's crappy news I'm glad he found it. I think my first payment I made to the shop is going to go quickly lol!

I found some solid motor mounts.

Would using solid mounts really be noisy and uncomfortable in the car or do you think the rubber is absolutely necessary for a street driven car??
 
I ran solids for years in a worked Chevy. Did not notice any real issues. Comparison guys that run a tork strap make it solid also on the power side.

Would using solid mounts really be noisy and uncomfortable in the car or do you think the rubber is absolutely necessary for a street driven car??

Rubber mounts, and you will be way happier with your car. Solid mounts turn up all kinds of noises and vibrations and makes wiring and cables rattle up against the body panels.

Solids are for racing . . .

Supply and demand on motor mounts, I would rock the solids and keep an eye out for what you actually want then swap them. You might have a long wait, no need to kill forward progress. Keep in mind this comes from a racer not a restorer! I will run international harvester parts if it gets me to the track.

GJ your post popped up right when I was sending mine with the disclaimer I am a racer! Hah! We said same thing, differently!

Rubber helps dampen vibration and sound...
