Got a few things done yesterday. Cut and trimmed the lawn. Installed new mailbox post, and repainted the old box. Had to hook a chain on the old post, and pull it out with my Cummins.

Ray, this is a V-8 car. I’ll clean up the bracket and see about getting it pulled off the pan. Off to get a spot weld cutter and will have a photo of the bracket within an hour or so for you

I was curious about the interior layout of the Flying Clippers and researched a bunch to put these images together. I thought it was kinda cool and thought I would share.

The first one is the interior layout and the rest are actual vintage photos from bak in the day when these boats were flying.

They really were amazing. But not cheap to fly on.

The standard of luxury on Pan American Clipper flying boats has rarely been matched on heavier-than-air transport since then. They were a luxury form of travel for the super-rich, with standard tickets priced at $675 (equivalent to $12,000 in 2019). The deluxe compartment tickets were around $950 (a 40% premium).
