Chamberlan used to be made here in Waterloo. We went on a old house tour and walked through the old Chamberlan home. Yes it had a old garage door opener in it. Could have been original to the house which was built in the 1920's.
My last one was a Craftsman. Pretty sure they were made by Chamberlain too. Most are either them or GenieChamberlan used to be made here in Waterloo. I have had 2 garages and 2 Stanley's. They have worked flawless (so far). Knock on wood! We have a heavy 16' wooden door here with torsion springs. The chain drive does the trick. My last one was a Craftsman. Pretty sure they were made by Chamberlain too. Most are either them or Genie
Some say yes, some no. I always did and didn't have any issues.Just making note of this.....when I got my Hughes Whiplash cam and lifter set, the directions (yeah, I know, I read them...sigh) it said specifically, do not presoak lifters. I always had, but they pointed out not to. IDK

Good for you Mitch! I bet you can't wait.Well after much confusion by many that I contacted. Today I finally got my Visa into Viet Nam. Almost impossible for an American to get in there now, with all of our Covid issues. Had to actually go to the VN Embassy in DC to make progress. But the woman I met there was very helpful and knowledgeable. Was there on Thursday. Today Fed Ex delivered the Visa. Think I'm leaving the day after my Birthday, leaving on the 18th

The more lift, the greater the chance of damage? Has something to do with that degree thing? I Dont Know...As it was explained to me the reason not to soak hydraulic lifters is that they may fill completely with oil and not give when cranking and cause valve to smack piston. Lube them and let oil pressure do the filling and self adjust. Just passing on the explanation I was given.
