Just got what I hope is correct length push rods installed. You really start to see the crappy valvetrain geometry with higher lift cams. Chevy is better in this respect imo
 
This is one of the newest donut creations...and sure to give your cardiologist fits.

Maple cream eclair with a strip of bacon on top. Contains 200% of the RDA for 3 of the 4 major food groups; sugar fat and salt.

Enjoy with an Irish coffee to get the 4th major group, alcohol.

Just the angle of the pushed at lifter. Looks wonkey. And lower pushrod clearance. Tight. But not rubbing..

Put magnetic heater on engine block and took a photo with flir after about 4 hours. The hot spot is about 75 degrees. Fired right up. I took a video with flir on way into quonset, and it was registering -40 in spots, but it was nowhere near that,real temp wise. But bang on with wind chill.

Hey guys sorry I've been gone away for a while.

I have a question. So im trying to replace the brake rod reaction bushing. As you know I had the front end complete apart.

So the repair manual states that I should install the rod with the bushing in place but leave that front nut it loose. Then install the rear bolts that connect the rod to the lower control arm. My issue is the holes won't line up on the rod and lower control arm. If I pry the lower control arm back I can get the holes to line up. Is this normal? Did my lower control arms relax forward? I can't really tell if the tire is centered because the front fender angles wide on the back vs the front.

Any help or advice is appreciated.
 

I always attached rod to control arm out of vehicle, then installed as a unit....I could not see another way to do it...

I was going to try that but I was just going off the manual and it said it could be done with the control arm in place. I finally got a reply on the Buick forum and one guy chimed in and said to put a ratchet strap and pull it back.


In other sad news I think the Buick might have been vandalized.

I walked out today to work on it only to find the passenger window shattered. Still intact but in small cubes. I couldn't see any obvious point of impact before I opened the door to clean up the glass.

Didn't see any rock or anything obviously out of place.

I can't recall looking at the car at any time this week until today. The replacement is going to cost $100 american. I already have the replacement fuzzies/rubbers for the windows. Still just put me in a bad mood. I wasn't mad just sad and disappointed. But I got it covered up.
