Hard to get motivated to do anything today. Did stow away some of the stuff I brought back yesterday. Did that yesterday.....LOL...
Hey Ray. I backread all 14 pages on here yesterday....Just got back from Tim's "Illegal in CA" run!

My Dad bought a 1964 MG 1100 ( 4dr sedan transverse mounted 4 cyl )when our family was stationed in Vienna Austria ( 1962-1967 ). He brought it back to the US. I learned to drive that 4 spd car when I was 12. Just around the yard or Uncles Farm though. In 1971 the cars engine was worn. I was 14 at the time. Told Dad I thought I could rebuild the engine. He said ok, brought me the full service manual and told me to read it front to back, and he'd let me do it. So I took it out and disassembled it, and took the block and heads and crank and all to the machine shop. Got it all back and reassembled it, returned it to the car. But I couldn't get it started for some reason. After a few days, I determined that I had the distributor out 180 deg...LOL... Ran great after that. That was my first engine overhaul, I didn't realize until a few years later how much confidence Dad had in me to let me try that. R.I.P. Dad....

and the Midget responded well
. Things got really hairy when she let the Midget go for this new import called 240Z
. 1100 more CCs and she used them all
We raced D production in the Datsun roadster 2000The Spridgets are still hanging in I think H production? although SCCA is trying to get them, FVs and other old cars out (or investing in some major $$$ retrofit).
In autocross they've pretty much succeded in that.
They clearly can be fun to play with.

One guy shows up at many of our Philly region events with his mid 70s Triumph.
Nice car. needs some tweaking on the carbs but he'd rather leave them as they are.View attachment 1715764039
oh boy, 240z's are the BEST. My dad had a 280, and if he does not have some stories from that thing. Like testing how fast it could go and passing a cop at 125-ish. (the cop let him go because he had a 280 as well)Best friend's older sister drove a MG Midget. We used to duck for cover whenever we detected her motoring presence. No matter where she drove, in her head she believed she was at Laguna Secaand the Midget responded well

I got in at the wrong time. I was down at one point nearly 80 percent. But thru what is borderline day trading, I’ve made almost all that back.Just over 340 from 170, just really slow. Glad I dumped when I did.
Looks Like D prod is gone from National level events. We raced D production in the Datsun roadster 2000
Now find a bottle of Vat 69Hey Ray!
