I spent a month on my fenders, felt like glass in primer... neighbors probably thought i was a weirdo as i slowly caressed the tops of the fenders in that way you do to feel for waves... Soon as i shot color the bodywork gods showed up and laughed at me...
I ended up rubbing them out with a blue jean pad and cutting compound and i'm OK with how they are.. i need to rub the rest of the car now though..

My Dad was a '40 Ford guy, I liked them too, but was a little more open minded in that subject 
One Sunday morning I'm reading the ads in the LA Times and find a '40 Willys hot rod for a very tempting price. I had a job and money in the bank. "You're not putting one of those ugly POSs in my garage!" he said . "Dad, the only difference is the grill." 
'40 Willys coupes occupied drag strip from coast to coast 
Keeping in mind this is the same dad that did 140mph at El Mirage in a flat head roadster

I'm jealous of that bumper..... my chrome is **** and it's like $800 a piece plus shipping to get chrome done

I took the bumper guards off and welded in the center hole before rechrome. The chrome was a little more than that for both bumpers

Yeah, 1k for 2 bumpers would be more doable.. 2k+ for 2 though... no way.. mine aren't peeling.. will try polishing them eventually
I learned to use long blocks and guide coat. Game changers.

I did... it lied to me
Cardboard burned.
Have to start moving some stuff around. But first i need to do some work on my home made bucket forks. Im going to need them shortly. See if beetle will fire up after sitting a week. Then Dart. Think there are some decent bumpers in the back.. if not i have some on the Duster. They are really nice for 50 years old.

I should really redo some spots on my 66 dart. But no interest. Looks ok nowI did... it lied to me

Here is a picture of my arch nemesis today. It is locust trees, they are medieval and eat saw chain like candy. I am on second chain already today. What I need is a second back! Them stickers hurt and will go thru a shoe or tire with little to no regard. Thorns on every single branch, tuff to drag the tops.
