Stop in for a cup of coffee

Was helping my son with his Trans am. Slowly heats up. Pulled a plug, its terribly lean. Plugs are white. He ripped the quadrajet apart, #70 jets and the donor carb i have has #77’s. Not sure what needles will work in the bigger jets, we are working on getting it to richen up. 455 olds.
Until today, he was not willing to touch a carb, now hes tearing into it like a fat guy with a big mac.

At first we adjusted idle, got a but better, then timing, so now it pulls better, so im thinking we are gettibg closer.
what year trans am? I always liked the 74-77 model.of course the smokie and the bandit model.

Good morning everyone. Not much to report except happy Friday. I have my MRA appt tomorrow AM. Need to start prepping for MITP. And a local car ahow on Monday, usually a little shakedown run to make sure the car is OK. Typically a good turnout.

Does it have a choke?
Mr. Possum just doing minding his own business doing possum things :)
I think they do some of the small digging looking grubs.

Its the bushy tailed critters that were rolling around an climbing the tree. A couple of photos show ringed tails - so those are surely racoons. The others are prob just long body racoons. They'll fatten up over summer...
