Boy it was HOT and miserable. So I did not get to see any racing. A lot was cancelled because of the rain.
wow. Think there used to be a model thread somewhere.
I was into model building, pre teen. Just finished a 71 blazer, left it on kitchen table for paint to dry. Older brother came in late, picked up chassis and looked at the detailed bottom side and set it on the roof shell after looking at it. The silver painted mufflers embedded into the roof. I was so pissed off, it went in the trash and i never built another model.Good morning all. I have a whole bunch from my younger yrs. Also about 75 unbuilt kits. Most vintage and Mopar. Some day……..
Shapers and metal bangers, it's an art, one I don't have but also haven't practiced enoughHe does good work doesn't he? @Frodee

Nice, still waiting! Today I AM off but chose to work OT, guys doing the radio project need to escort the contractor team into a site they don't have access to, it's an electronic Ekey access that the radio bubbas don't have in their profile. Double time, easy money!

Ran thread over a candle so they hold shape for making plug wires. Its all in the details, and reading books about modeling. A needle for painting details. I took it serious, modeling contests in the mall. Thats what i built the Blazer for. Thanks Bro!! : (
Will do, AC in the work truck works : ) It is a mountain site as wellStay cool!!
Wow, good deal Tike, pics? Think it was Fred that was looking for same year? Could be wrong on that, been running runningSo to explain myself and my sickness. As I get older I am finding I cannot kick start the big bikes so I have to focus on the electric start bikes. I love the old Honda SL's and there is only one year. Well one year and a half (1969-1070 the first half) that has it. SO I have one that I have been gathering parts for and had to find a title for. Well...there in the Spring we were shopping ANtique shops and flea markets down around Hancock MD when I came across a 1971 SL350 and was able to talk him down to $120 because it was locked up but otherwise it was complete. I decided to take it out to sell and sold it for $850 so $750 profit was a good thing. I happened to look on Facebook for a message from my Nephew and there is a picture of a SL350 just 2 doors down. Running with a title! For $1800. As I looked the guy wasn't there but his buddy was. We did a corn boil for all those around us the night before about 30 people and they were there. I was all packed up and sitting there waiting for my buddy when the guy came up and wanted to deal on the SL. I said I would only go $1000 he said he couldn't go that low. My buddy said ok I'm ready to go and the guy says OK I'll go for the $1000. It is a 69 with the electric start.
