Stopped to look at a New Truck

-
I agree. Ford does have some nice trucks. What kills it for me is the diesel motor. They have really had some serious issues with these motors ever since they dropped the 7.3. Dodge on the other hand is still using the tried and true cummins powers plant. That right there seals the deal for me. That, and I just really don't like fords haha.
I have the 7.3 in my Excursion. I just turned 165,000 miles and it runs like new still. It has been a great truck for me. MMG

you should be able to talk them down close to 50
i bought my 1010 mega cab diesel. they went down 9000
great truck tows awesome. good luck

I saw one of those in person at my local dealer earlier in the summer. It's a very classy truck, and a beautiful color combo. I believe the buckles on the 'saddle bags' on the back of the front seats are sterling silver.
Like a friend of mine once said, though, If I gave $60k for a truck I would park it in the house and I would sleep outside!

Yes that's quite expensive but a very nice truck i like the colors, but it's your money do what you want. I have looked at the new dodges but i want a dually diesel,i just can't part with that much cash besides i have not gotten used to the latest bodystyle yet right now i hate the looks [but i hated the 2nd gen trucks too and i have owned two] i personally like duallys for towing rear end seems more stable [less sway]. But that's just me [i think duallys are bad assed] Good luck in your purchase and don't let'em rob ya.

Nice, but.....naaaaa.

In 2005 I bought a 2004.5 Dodge 4-door diesel dually with 5,600 miles from a retired guy that was between 5 & 10k less than a Dodge dealer friend could sell a new one for.
It now has over 100k and never a hick-up. It wasn't even broke in yet because fuel mileage kept going up past 25k miles!

Even if I could afford it, I can't see buying a brand new vehicle. With all the uncertainties and fluctuations, I'd hate to have such a financial burden to carry for so many years. Keep looking, be patient, do lots of research and you should be able to find a good, low mileage alternative. A lot of people are trying to get out from under their own financial burdens. Watch the diesel forum site ads and retirees.

As always, be practical. i.e.: Do you really need the added purchase and maintenance expense of 4WD?

I know you can't get 0% interest on a used truck, but what about getting one a few years older so someone else already got hit for the initial depreciation. That is what I did. It was 2001, my truck at the time blue booked for $28.5K. It is a 1999 Ram 2500, 4X4, Quad Cab, Long Bed, fully loaded for that year except stereo controls in the steering wheel; it already had the leveling kit, rims and 35" BFG tires. I talked them down to $25K. At the time, that truck brand new was selling for over $40K.

That is a good looking truck you've picked out there. Good luck.

You don't pay sticker unless you are dumb. Use the dealer's Internet Sales and shop around till you get it at invoice minus incentives.

Good luck finding a deal on a used one. In this economy everyone wants the used truck deal so demand out strips supply. And those diesels really hold their value well.

I say Buy It and be happy! Thats an awesome truck. Their nothing like being the original owner either. I have a 2011 and I really like it BTW. Do It!

That is a nice looking truck. The Laramie editions are top of the line for comfort, so that's where the expense comes in. I just bought a GMC Sierra SLE ( nobody start yelling at me!!!) fully loaded and chromed out for $26,000. The guy bought the truck in 09 for over $53000. That is the hard part of buying such expensive vehicles you will always lose in the end. Bottom line if you like it and want it go for it, you won't be disappointed and you will have a great time driving that truck for sure!:toothy7:

I did not talk real seriously with the young salesman, but he did mention a $1,200 incentive from the dealer !! Yes I had all I could do not to turn and laugh in his face !! I'm Well aware of the games, and also realize they need to sell vehicles,I don't NEED to buy one from them!!

My buddy bought a 2011 over the weekend. There are all sorts of incentives. The new 2012 trucks have hit the ground, and they have leftover inventories.
