StuBBle has left the field.

Honestly, I am surprised that with the lines and curves on both that they weren't offered as a pair from Ma. The front view shows that the shape of the scoop closely resembles the wind shield / roof line. The side is aggressive like Randy said. I kinda like it I think when the time comes I will poke some holes in a flat hood over the carb. But that will be some time from now.

Well that was a pain I the ***. I am doing a roof skin on StuBBle and whoever put the windshield in knew how to do it properly. No big deal, other than it is still mint condition. So I had to save it. The black windshield adhesive is still sticky! But I got it out without cracking it. Hopefully the back is easier. The parts car has a broken windshield but an electric rear. I’ll have to save that.

Nice work StuBBle!
My GTX was in a field for many years too.
That is a no-no in the UK for rustiness.

So after a short twenty year resto, I am nearing the finish line?
First picture is my ambition but you know how its goes lol...

I like the scoop better than I thought I would! It seems to fit beautifully into the indent on the hood, and the lines flow with the fenders and roof very nicely. One off!

A friend of mine told me the roof skin really isn’t that hard to do. I’m glad the parts car roof is good. They don’t make these ones yet. I decided to use an air die grinder to buzz the spot welds. Then I bent a screwdriver to be my wedge. One side is free. About a half hour to do this. I won’t get it all done today though. Priorities are gonna take over.

Ok. It literally is about 1 1/2hr job to remove a skin! Ya. I couldn’t wait. StuBBle is now a Satellighter than he was before.

I haven’t decided whether I will use the 74 Sebring roof or a 74 Charger I have available. I think the Charger will be less overall modification to fit the 71 Plymouth. At least my research implies that. So I figured I would make a little template for the wing mount holes. I don’t know that I will put a wing on, I do have a Go wing, but there is a chance and I have to weld up the holes somebody else drilled in.

The tools of the trade!

The result. I drilled the corners so they would kinda look factory. Then I used a zip disc to cut a square section out. A carbide die grinder made the finishing touches. Perfect? No. Damn close? Yes.

These were pulled in from the previous wing. I straightened them up and filled the holes. Nail heads are great for this. Less weld. Less heat.

Your pic of the tools of the trade should have included your hands!! Without your skill the rest means nothing.

Stupid question Jorge, what's the white stuff?

No such thing Steve.
I’m not sure but I think you are referring to the glare of the light off the paint. That is the only white I’m seeing. There are a few lights above me!

Thank you. It is a self taught hobby. The biggest part of the challenge is accepting the challenge! I used to be afraid to make the first cut. And I did make some mistakes. But I soon realized these cars are not perfect by a long shot. So any work we do to them is usually an improvement in quality control! Because we are trying to be perfect.

I can't wait to come over and inspect your work this weekend, George.
It's looking great so far!
Maybe i'll do some work to the Valiant while i'm there and make an afternoon of it...

I just found your build! You are having fun!!!!!

Those cars are great road cars and a great style (auto art).

I admit I have loved the 71 up B bodies, my fav was a 73 base Charger, original 400 4 speed, I read one of 75. Sold it in 2005. It was either that or sleep in the pickup up and winter was omng on! They call that "temporary hard times!

Thanks guys. Tom, unfortunately I am 5 hours away from home with 3 more to go. Moving a rig at Fox Creek tomorrow. Then up to Grande Prairie to visit 3 others. I’ll be back next week. Easter is a work day this year.
