I moved and weeded the woodpile corner of the yard. The boys got into it and we made some great progress. I need a tiller now to level all this crap out and turn under the dead grass.

when I read @mygasser post about a 70's BSA 'shopper', I was expecting to see a BSA Chopper!

We married off our youngest son today at a ranch in the Texas Hill Country. His brothers and friends cooked at our house given the carona cancellation of the original "big" reception. Killer ceremony with four chairs in the audience (parents) and maybe 25 at the house eating and drinking and with the "elders" gone swimming. Really a remarkable night given the crap the virus has, well...

Been doin some cleanin and organizing of 50 years worth of tools. Since I've now officially retired (for the last time). Done a little piddlin on the Valiant. Going to do some more on it tomorrow. I'll update the build thread.

Worked "in the bunker" yesterday and again today. For the moment I'm working part time at home. Yesterday I set up to make 40 more power cables for the drive modules (power wheel chairs). These are a PITA require crimping 3 wires into 2 of the terminals 2X no 10 and 1 no 12

all the parts except the chains arrived for the bike, i've prepped and painted the wheel rims red and tightened a few loose spokes on the rear wheel. i broke one as the nipple was rusted solid but a mate breaks old bikes for spare cash and is dropping me off a couple from his stash.

here's where i am so far, no white walls as strangely an american 26 x 2.125 tyre isn't 26" like our's are? whoodathunkit? so back on with the black walls it was. next i cleaned the bearing races for the headstock and the pedal spindle of years of hard old grease and repacked them with fresh grease and put all the balls back in place. wheels in and it's a roller so i dropped the 'zoom' bmx stem and handlebars into the headstock and the seat and stem at the back and it's a bike again. tomorrow i'll get the brakes and gears reconnected/fitted with the new matching red cables and it's nearly there. i may keep an eye out for bars with more rise as the seating position is a bit more bobber than easy rider but we'll see how it rides.

Finished the kitchen remodel, painted the staircase and finished a cut down church pew in the closet turned nook. And bought a BBP front suspension setup for my Duster. Old stuff will be for sale soon and it’s nice. Gotta find time soon to prime and paint!!

Nice work! I enjoy home improvements. I remodeled our living room last November. I built a corner fireplace and installed a infrared insert and made put up a rustic wood wall. I built the mantle and base all by hand. The rock is that airstone from lowes

Some try methamphetmine to rev themselves up. Downside? Sudden inclination to take the cars apart, high levels of sexual desire that may include dangerous interludes with highly undesireable partners, difficulty sleeping, tooth loss, bank statement discrepancies, high speed chases on the freeway, profuse sweating on relatively cool days and occasional poor judgement.

the chains came today so it was final assembly time......... well it was after i stripped and cleaned the brake and gear levers and the brake calipers. i also decided to use the larger cowhorn bars but the middle bit where they clamp to the stem bulged to 1" not the 7/8" that both the clamp and the rest of the bars were. you know where i'm going here, yes i cut the fat bit out and welded the sides back together. a quick localised grind flush of the weld and some clear lacquer to prevent rust and they fit. the weld is hidden in the clamp as that's about 2 1/2" wide which also gives ample support to the welded join, bonus. plus the bigger bars are taller by enough that i don't need a riser as they're comfy as is. all the cables (inner and outer) were oversize and had to be cut to fit and i had to add about 10 links to the chain from the spare one and hurrah! a rideable bike. the black side stand should be here by the weekend so i don't need to lean it against stuff or lay it on the floor which will be a bonus. then i got a call for dinner so no ride today as i still had to clear all the tools away after i'd eaten.

Wife wanted a small outside table. I had a few pallets waiting to be busted up for the fire pit. So 1.25 pallets and an hour later, I presented this table to her. She shows me a pic from pintrest and it is nearly identical. Who knew? LOL Now she wants a pallet built step to make it easier to enter and exit the kid's trampoline.

I opened an Edelbrock Pro-Flo 4 box for my Dart based Windsor 427 73 Mach 1. I am leaving for the summer next week so the install is months off. Looks like a nice package though.

the new tyres arrived to day so i popped them on after lunch. i'd fitted the stand monday and dawn's bike tyres came too so i fitted them after mine today. i can get her bike assembled now as it's in nearly as many bits as mine was.

I got all the base board cut and sitting in place, ill fire up the compressor when the wife has time to watch the kids and let the boy shoot them all on with the nail gun

i'm definately spending too much time looking at the computer, it makes me spend money!!! i'm finally organising getting the chevy s10 rolling chassis collected so i just looked on ebay last night to see what old truck cabs were on there. bugger me by this morning i'd bought a 51 5 window chevy cab and front wings from one guy, a pair of doors from another and a front grill from a 3rd. doh!!! so it looks like i'll be building a rat rod truck then.......

recently i've removed the built in wardrobes in our bedroom as dawn's decided we need free standing ones. we bought a set of 2 large wardrobes and a dresser that are the style she wants. they came from their original owner along with the receipt from 1951 and are really solidly built. the bedroom needs plastering, not only as the old wardrobes covered where we took out the chimney breast but to cover the 90's artex on the walls and ceiling too. the plasterer is a mate who actually did the artexing for us back then and said he's had to cover lots of the same in the last few years. he's got his work cut out for him as he also artexed the hallway stairs and landing walls and ceilings too, guess what? he's skimming them too lol.
in preparation for this i've added an extra power point in the hall and recessed one there that's always annoyed me as it was surface mounted.
i've earned enough brownie points to get away with ordering new 'glass rear wings for my chevy truck project so it's all good.

While on shutdown I got this puppy running again after 6 years.

I also got creative with some parts I had laying around. 56 DeSoto upper grille and 1920s Dodge radiator shell are now shelves in the garage to hold some of my old toys.

And made this lamp for our living room from an old carb. pressing the linkage turns it on and off.

Well done! Not nitpicking at all, but an old headlight switch would look cool, but I like the industrial switch too.
