hey there wanted to see what you guys think iam guessing i have a bad sure grip unit its a 7.25 i had the car in park and lifted up on stands to swap out my rear tires and one tire the passenger side would rotate after i would use some force to break lose the lug nuts if the car was in park doesnt that mean both tires would be locked? not able to spin any tire after applying force? another thing i noticed is my car felt little slower take off from the rear end i had before and they both had the same gear ratio 3.23

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Ok, Ill bite, have you burned off the Christmas turkey yet? heehee.

all other things being equal between the two, with or without a SG ,being slower is not SG related. It could be weather, humidity, junk in the trunk, old gas,or a bazillion other things, mostly related to vehicle weight or air density.

If you are in park, with just one rear wheel off the ground; turning the free wheel may want to drive the car off the jack. If the car goes in the opposite direction as the applied force, then the SG is not working, or not there.

ahahaha well ya actually both tires were off the ground

Well if both wheels are off,NEW story. In park; if the wheel opposite, rotates in the opposite direction of the applied force, then the SG is either not working or not in there. If it is in there it will be quite difficult to rotate the wheel, perhaps requiring 80 to 120 ft pounds to rotate, and the opposite side will still rotate in the opposite direction. If you then put the tranny in neutral, both sides will rotate in the same direction.

7.25 SG uses clutch disks just like its big brother, the 8.75 clutch SG. Ie. rebuildable.
