Talk Me Out of Buying This Tin Grille

-
I have a 93 D250 Cummins Club Cab with no rear seat or jump seats. Built a plywood platform w/a pair of pontoon boat cushions. It has Buckets/Captains' Chairs, or whatever they're called, and tilt mechanisms don't work(surprise)so dog would hop up on passenger floor, then console to get in back. Handy storage underneath, too.

We went and looked at it yesterday afternoon and for once, didn't walk away disappointed. The truck really is as solid as it looked in the original pictures. The rockers, cab corners, bottoms of doors, top of the windshield are all rust free. There's lots of surface rust underneath on the frame and suspension but looks like it would be easier treatable. I took a weak magnet with me and it stuck everywhere I put it.

I wasn't really in the market for a Club Cab but I've been driving extended cab Rangers and Colorados for the last twenty years at work, so I'm used to having a semi useless area behind the seat. It's good for holding your coat or random auto parts and the seat leans forward for easy access. I'd probably take the jump seats out of there.

It was originally a 360 truck but a previous owner had a 383 in it. The front frame rails have been cut to clear headers.

The one piece driveshaft is in the bed of the truck. Although it was full of wet leaves, the bed appears to be solid with a couple of patches
added at some point.

It has a flat hood on it that isn't original to the truck. Luckily, the seller just happened to have a nice bird bath hood laying around.

It has an 8 1/4" rear end which kind of surprised me as this was originally a V8 truck. Although it could have been changed some time in the last 46 years. The shocks and exhaust look fairly recent. The truck has 2025 Oklahoma tags on it.

Both of my ramchargers had 8 1/4 rearends in them, thanks for the information Brian T, so you didn't trailer it home ?

I didn't have access to a trailer yesterday, but I'm 99% sure we are going back after it this week. I did buy a nice deck lid for my Duster from him.

Congratulations, looks like a good solid one.

looks like a nice truck, cab mounts fall apart on those years, and you will need a different cowl panel for the bird bath hood.

You will notice, the truck has 2 1/2" single exhaust system > they breathe good for a factory setup, especially if a certain canister goes bye bye.

It actually has dual exhaust all the way to the back where it goes into a single tailpipe?

Cab mounts look fine. I was unaware of the difference in the cowl panel. Thanks for the heads up

I have two setting in a van, I know one is a 88 model, the other could be off my white 76 parts truck I bought for parts and trans. Let me know and it's yours if you by that truck

Yea, but AC trucks tend to have wiring issues in the firewall bulkhead. Overall, its a really good deal, but once you get it home, check out that area and behind the fuse block to make sure it hasn't melted through and shorted any wires.

I was noticing a lack of underhood wiring, but I think it's all tucked back under the the fuse panel.

Thanks Mike! I've been doing a little research and the bird bath hoods ended at 78. I didn't realize it but the 79 I had back in the day also had a flat hood. I do like the BB hood better though.

no dash cracks ,dose the glove box work
power brakes/ps sold me on it

A deal has been struck! He's out deer hunting today but is going to meet us tomorrow afternoon. I'll post some pics on the way home.
