From the Cats Protection League;
Cats should not be given cow's milk because they can be intolerant of lactose, a sugar found in milk. Giving a cat cow's milk, especially in larger quantities, may cause diarrhoea.

If you have an out door cat that take mice, birds and moles and keeps the shop, barn or house clear of rodents 1/4 cup a month is a must.8)
I had just bought my old home place about 25 years ago and when I moved in there was field rats and small mice every where.

About my third day there I seen a big male cat show up and I put a small amount of milk out for him. he stayed around and never stayed in the house.
He would show up at the back door with a mouse or a large field rat and meowed like crazy until I came to see what was the problem ,
He new he was going to get a milk treat and we called him general lee.
As a young man in Michigan the farm I worked at they had cats in there barns and horse, sheep and goat barns and they always told all the workers never pet or play with the cats and these old great apple growers new how to keep the rodent away from there hay and away from living areas.:love7:

As a young boy I was surprised to see so many cats that you would never see until she milked them ones a week.:thumbrig:
I have never owned a house cat, My wife and sister inlaw are allergic to the dust they collect on there body, Yep its not the cat hair its what gets on them.:read2:
