Going to take the wifes Duster to test n tune tomorrow and curious what you thought it would run. Stock bodied 73 Duster with air and power steering, no other power options. 340 is stock 69 340 with headers and flowmasters and edelbrock 600 carb. stock 727 with 8 1/4 open 3.21 gears, what do ya think?

Maybe Mid to high 14 seconds would be my guess mostly because of the gearing and open differential in the rear. It will be lots of fun.

I,m gonna say in the 15,s,only because of the open rear.A sure-grip would get ya in the mid 14,s.Have fun regardless!

Fifteen ten.... spinning.

What Bill said. You'll spin out of the hole and walking it out isn't to much better. If you have some sticky meats under there, you could do a mid 14.

ran 13.82 with a 2.76 peg leg on street tires last year. was shifting at about 5500. with my wimpy iron head 360. im gonna say about a 14.80 to a 14.50

if the track has some bite in it could be a little better.

Well were back! It was a great day of racing for all! Tiff made her first dragstrip passes ever and she's hooked! Unfortunatley the Duster wasnt to well hooked LOL but she did manage a tire smoking 18.67 at 76mph on her first run! After a talk about the "Groove" she left it in drive and went 15.89 at 90! MPH Her third pass was a 15.78 at 89 mph leaving it in drive. On her fifth and final pass it went 15.20 at 92mph! shifting it herself...of course a little short So 15.20 at 92mph....for her I went 14.49 at 95mph, 14.69 at 94mph and a best of 14.35 at 97mph! Waaay better than we ever expected, and I was shifting at 5000/5000 and going through the traps at 4000 LOL . Here's some vids!

It looks like you and the wife had a great time throttling the Duster. As far as times it appears we were all right and all wrong, lol! Great runs!

Yes we had a blast! everybodies times fell in between the highest and the lowest so we all know what were talking about! LOL

To run 14.35 with an open 3.23 (I assume street tires) is hooking really well.

That's a pretty strong 340 to be so near "stock." A Holley 3310 on an Air Gap manifold and a 3.90 Sure Grip would drop that thing deep into the 13's I would think.

Good luck!!! And thanks for including us in your test and tune day!!!

14.35 @ 97 MPH!?!?! I am impressed at that. I didn't think you would get it that quick. I figured hooking it up out of the hole would be the biggest challange and most hurtful issue to the run.

I should have paid more attention to the "Stock 69 - 340 engine"

Yep its a high comp 69 340 so its still got some oats :) If you look at the video I posted of my 14.49 run traction was not that much of a problem....it was that long crawl to the top of first gear that was a pain!
