Don't ask me what I was searching for when I found this

I guess, really, I'm not suprised. After all, in my Dad's day, there were Model A Ford spark plug hole accessory wolf whistles...................(I've actually got one similar to this my Dad had)

Whats the point of that spark plug vent thing. Easier starting? Some sort of signal device?

It just sounded cool (or at the time: neat-o!)
Kinda like jetting rich and mounting spark plugs in your exhaust tips- serves no purpose, but cool in it's time.

Watch the first part of the last video. It's a "steam whistle" operated by engine compression

I never knew about these . I have heard them at car shows but never knew what was making the whistle noise. Must have be cool in there day. Sort of like gear drives today no purpose just sounds cool.

Watch the reaction on this post LOL.

The mindset is similar to this. Anyone in their 60's or older will recall having an uncle, brother, dad or grandfather etc who did those things. When I lived in Az. I used to ride over to Cave Creek where clubs and bike builders hung out at a popular bar and had bikes with turbos etc shooting out flames just for entertainment.

That Wolf whistle is cool. I never knew what those looked like.

I bought a wolf whistle [in my youth] from Warshawsy. A JC Whitney clone. A horn shaped metal gizmo with a valve that mounted to the intake manifold. Drilled a hole thru the firewall and ran a piece of twine inside to a finger loop. Pull on the loop and it made a whistling sound. After some practice I got it to make some neat sounds to attract young women. The looks I got from them weren't what I was hoping for.

I'm guessing a signaling device. Early Model T's didn't have batteries, so they used brass squeeze bulb horns. And if the rubber went south, they might have bought a compression horn. Or they just wanted to annoy people?
