Tom Clark spent the better part of his day at my home, applying the beginnings of what will be an incredible tribute to the days gone by of custom painting and lettering. No vinyl here. Not even any water slide decals!! He is going even paint the ISKY and CRAGAR logos!! Check out some of the many pictures! Its amazing how these guys use 23-carat gold leaf. He'll finish up next week, but wow, what an amazing transformation!!!

Very cool to see someone doing the old fasioned sign painting instead of decals. Love the photo album and the car. Ever checkout Dave Lindseys (I think thats his name) on fotki, he has everything you could ever want to see in cars. Thanks for sharing your album.

That looks really terrific! I'll take the old style hand painting over modern aftermarket graphics any day! It looks like you lowered that rearend somewhat since we last saw the car. Looks great! Dan

Dave does a great job covering all the events here in Socal. He's everywhere, and a nice guy to boot.

I've still been riding around with 200lbs. of sandbags in the spare tire well to help the springs in their settling process. It seems to work, but with that much weight now waaaay past the rear axles, it makes for a wheelie-like feel on the street when you nail it. The steering gets real 'feathery'. Maybe I'm doing a little wheelie and don't even know it!! Too bad the track officials won't let me leave them in there---- it'll promise crowd cheering bumper drag-alongs all the way down the track!!! I fear coming back down to Mother -Earth would be one hard fender jarring hit!! We'll see it a couple weeks!

Well- I can now breathe a sigh of relief, as Tom finished last night. The final details have really pulled the car together. Highlights on numbers and letters and the subtle use of off-colors, including an artistic take on the original Cragar logo make the car really pop!! Tom Clark really knew how to wrap the car up in an overall package to make it as period looking as possible. Thanks again, Tom!!
