National are cheaper by 25% but used Timken last time. But we're old stock USA.
Seems like parts are hit and miss now, no matter the name or country.
The USA on the box does not matter if quality is not inside it.
Bet both are out sourced so figured best to ask here before buying
In your opinion does it matter what brand I get. Anyone buy any lately of either brand? Looking for feedback
Thanks

i like timken and koyo if i can get them, and the price/timeline isn't obscenely more that the national stuff.

that said, i think the national stuff is perfectly acceptable and have run it countless times.

I prefer Timken, I've not had problems with Timkens, other than trying to avoid counterfeits (Seriously, check the serial numbers and stuff).

Personally, I think this is where the issues people are having with them are coming from. Buy Timken on eBay and get Wing Fau's version of a Timken bearing.

How to tell:
Authentic Bearings - The Timken Company

Someone local has all the Bearings-Races and pinion seal is need. They don't need them so 65 bucks for everything to set up the rear 3rd member with National brand. And will have them tomorrow. Way before needed.
Like mentioned won't be daily driven or get used enough to matter. Gotta be better than eBay Amazon Wang-Fun.

Thanks for the link. I will save it for next time. I saw some fake NGK junk. One messed up the guys car. In the long run all this counterfeit crap sucks. I hope the government when they catch people doing get prosecuted to the fullest extent they can be. It cheats the customer and the company that produces the real products. And the reversed engineering that China does to cheat companies who spent tons of time and capital on R&D also hurts bad. It not only hurts the companies but hurts consumers since less amounts of items are produced since they can't make money back selling the amount needed to cover the R&D and initial set up., since competitor did no R&D. So we get less items produced.

Sorry didn't meen to get on soap box or political. But I hate counterfeit goods and cheap low quantity parts. And they sell low quality at normal cost like it it top tier thus me asking never know now days if a once good name brand has become junk.

Timken is still made in USA IF you can get them from an authorized Timken dealer that does NOT rebox. National was bought out by Federal Mogul and is now made in China. I would not trust bearings from a big box store because they rebox coming and going, that is, if I wanted to try to purchase bearings made in USA. That said, I've had good service with National.
