I was sorting bolts in the garage and leaned back on an office chair . I went straight back slammed my shoulder on the concrete floor. I Can't lift my right arm. My son asked me ,
Can you move your fingers?
I said yes
He said:
Its not broke you'll be OK. And he smiled as him and Todd were picking me up off the floor.

I remember telling him the same thing when he was younger.

Today , I am so sore I don't know if its my back or my chest. Feels like I broke my neck. I took some Good pain meds but looks like I'll be house bound for a little while . When I was younger I could have fallen from a bar stool and not hurt this bad.

And what pisses me off the most is that was my best High Back chair. The best of all the chairs in the garage . The chair that no one else sits in. My Chair.

Go get checked out.

if nothing is broken or fractured, try a massage therapist. they do wonders! you could also try "Tiger Balm". stinky and slightly warming but helped when muscles got out of sorts at work. just don't overdo it cause everything feels better.
sorry to read this, really do hope you heal up like a teenager. :)

I use a product called Icy Hot that rolls on like an antiperspirant. Works purdy good. I sometimes supplement that with several shots of Fireball.

Welcome to getting older. I fell twice about 3 years apart, maybe 15 years ago, and both my shoulder rotators are junk. I've fallen twice (once was off the therapy girls table) and broke my ribs on my left side

Before the house fire I was cleanin out the Dodge camper, and miss stepped "off" what I thought was the stool step, and rotated back and crashed absolutely flat on my back off the tailgate on the dirt back yard. I was sore and black and blue for two weeks.

Yeah, landing backwards on cement ain't no damn good, even with a seatback between You & it.....could actually have made it worse depending. Get checked out good. You know the deal, it hurts today, but when You wake up 2 days later & try to move........

Like others here are telling you, go get yourself checked out.
Not knowing what might be going on in your insides.

A year ago, i fell in the bathroom, blacked out, woke up in a pool of blood on the floor.
Went to the VA hospital, and they admitted me for testing.
Nothing at the time was found, but you just never know, without tests.
Wishing you well.

My wife had damn near the same fall this winter.

Just after I said, "Watch that ice!" she slipped and fell backward, flat-out, square on the ice.

Tore her rotator cuff. We're having an SOB of a time getting her treatment because she needs happy drugs before she gets in that MRI tube, and apparently nobody wants to do that.

Get it checked out. If something needs to get fixed, it's better sooner than later.

Thank the lord I can tolerate MRI/ CAT tubes. They are annoying!!!

You probably did not want to see this!!!!

That's a CT scanner. Big doughnut spinning X-ray machine.

MRI is different: Long narrow tube that sounds like someone is running a jackhammer over your head. And stuff doesn't spin. It will suck anything made out of steel straight to it, though, at high speed, with no concern for whether you are in the way.

I'll add my vote to getting checked out. I fell out of a golf cart last year while I was toting branches back to my burn pile. While I was reaching down, one of my front wheels went into a dip, jerked the steering wheel out of my hand and pitched me out. I got up, dusted myself off and kept doing what I was doing. Wasn't very sore. Soreness didn't hit till later, but I still didn't go to a doctor right away. Finally went to a walk in clinic. Turns out I had a broken rib. Wasn't anything they could do for it except give me some pain pills, but that did make the pain tolerable and also warned me to take it easy for a while.

My wife fell a few years ago. Again, we didn't think it was all that bad, but eventually the pain set in. Turns out she had a cracked pelvis and had to spend a few weeks in a nursing home.

Sorry you took a tumble Steve. It hurts worse to fall now that we're old. It ain't really the falling that hurts...it's the sudden stop! I can usually tell it's gonna rain 2 days before it actually does. If you don't get to feeling better fairly soon, go to the doctor.

I was up since 3:38 because couldn't lay down . I have spinal stenosis C5,C6. and had an appointment scheduled for june 4th already made a month ago. I'll see if I can wait it out. Going to the ER will just get to many Doctors involved.

Steve you're still a young man in your mind you've got to realize since we put on more weight and aged we're off balance and brittle and spinal stenosis ain't no joke...I retired at 44 because of it...prayers to the 71Abody mopar man!! We really need you around in good shape...

Absolutely get checked out, hate to find out there's a blood clot from bruises heading to your hart or brain, sorry, but that's the worst that could happen and also possible after a bad fall.

Sorry to hear about your fall. Like everyone else has said, don't wait! You can't see what's going on inside, but the hospital can. I fell out of my attic a couple years ago, and I wasn't going to get checked. My foot hurt pretty bad, so I went to the ER just in case. Turns out I had 6 fractures and if I had waited, they may not have been able to put me back together the way they did.

Don't wait. Get checked.

I'll add my .02 to the getting yourself checked out sooner than later. Like many others, I have done something similar and thought, "I'll be fine, no big deal", but we just don't know what might have happened internally. Better safe than sorry.

Hope you feel better Steve. You should probably get checked out soon, like this coming week, just to be safe.
