My old Chiltons says 180 ft/lbs for a manual and 120 ft/lbs for power steering.

Huh? Did you mean the nut holding the pitman arm to the steering box?

I'm not trying to be a smarty pants but "damn tight" is the spec. I have worked around the service department for decades now and haven't seen a front end tech use the torque wrench on any tapered joint. They tighten them up a bit with a 1/2" impact , check where the cotter key goes, and tighten them till the holes line up. That's why they come apart so hard. They are damn tight! The pitman arm to steering gear should be torqued though so you don't damage the bearing and housing. I need to go through mine with an impact. I think a hand wrench got used on some of the joints. I get some strange noises when I back out of the driveway onto the street. tmm

Ok mike., I'll set her on damn tight, I just didn't want to over tighten, I'll use the idler arm specs on the center link, thanks for the input guys
