Howard

looked at Rock Auto, but couldn't find the proper one.

Harbor Freight Tools has ball joint socket kits. I dont know which kit has which size sockets.

this socket is for the disc brake - Ball Joint :eek:ops:

guess, i gotta look for the smaller- DRUM brake socket

If this is the 1 59/64"/1.9219" size I can get you hooked up with a SnapOn ball joint socket for just under $34.00 shipped.

As Bob said, a 3 ft cheater pipe will be needed. I used our shop's 3/4 air impact and popped them right out of my son's Dart. When I did my Coronet, I thought I was going to pull the car off of the jack stands before they came loose.

If you are also replacing the upper arm bushings you can clamp the ball joint in a vise and screw the upper arm off of it. Penetrant like PB Blaster is still required. You dont want to ruin the threads in the upper arms no matter how you go about the ball joint R&R.

got a socket from PST

not a show car, but like working with clean parts
