In the process of building a small block w2 stroker and would like to hear some opinions on roller rockers. Short block is 360/414 all forged with a solid mechanical cam. W2 heads are the econo version open chamber 2.08/1.6, 6500 rpm Street /race. So what I'd like to know is pros and cons between the t&d and jesel rockers.

Used Harlan Sharps on my w2's and love 'em. Sorry no experience with the other 2 brands. Would you consider H.S.?

And who is it that sells "Norris" rockers?

Are they pushrod oiled (magnum) or la oiling?

I have the la style oiling w2 and went with Harland sharp

I considered the HS even though a friend had some bad luck with his but price wise they are the same as the t&d/jesel that's why I'm looking at these two.

Rockers that are no longer available don't help me much. Don't know that I would even buy them used because of that.

Do jesel and t&D make w2 rockers for the econo heads? They do for the race w2 heads. Harland sharp does for sure make a set for the econo heads.

      Mainly price.
Everyone complained about price for all three though.
Harland sharp seemed easier to get ahold of. The others seemed to give me the run around or didn't have them on the shelf ready to ship.
Harland sharp made them and then shipped them out a week later after the order

Hmmm, great question. When I called for a price I don't remember if I said econo or not
Okay you had me second guessing myself because I didn't remember so I went back and checked, t&d does. Jesel does not, didn't catch that the first time I called. Also, jesel did not recommend them on a 59° block.

I'm using an older 360 block not the magnum. Was your decision based on availability?

Norris is no longer made and I got a smokin deal on the Harlan Sharps due to the less than pretty finish on the exhaust rockers. They anodizing process was skipped. Besides I used them on a solid roller 440-6 with out a hitch for many years.

I am building a near identical 408 and would be interested in the results for the rest of you guys.

I am still up in the air on cam grind. I am looking for the sleeper effect so I want my idle to be somewhat close to normal...but my heads should flow 600+ so I want to take advantage of the flow.

Any recommendations on cam profiles ?

T&Ds here. yeah they aren't cheap. Sleeper? what kind of power you want out of this motor?
      T&D shows a model for Econo W2s. 8100.

Mbaird, what gears and tire size?
Can I assume this is a street car build designed for fun and "Spirted Driving?" that needs to be street able and freindly with low to zero track time?

FredS, the intake came with the heads. A dual plane will provide much more low end torque over the other available intakes which are all single plane intakes. MoPar is the only maker of a dual plane intake for a W2 head. Otherwise it is an expensive chore to modify a "LA" intake to fit.
The MP - W2 - DP will flow very well. I do believe he is not strip bound.

Our combos are close, I used the scat with icon flat tops.
I called around about cams and everyone said I was picking too small of a cam. I was also looking at rollers and ended up going solid mechanical based on the information I got from Speier Racing head. The cam is a old Hughes grind made by engle. 256/265 @ .050 .587/.602
That could change maybe due to the heads. They have been worked some, waiting to here back right now.
I chose the Victor w2 after talking with Ryan at Shaddy Dell and plan on using the Tti headers as well.
If I remember right Chad had it figured to make around 580hp

580hp is what it worked out to on the computer. 6500 rpm max, and handle things like power tour and drag week type of events.
Not much of a chance for a sleeper, narrowed rear and 3" Flowmasters

Dual plane for torque and stock appearance once painted. 3.55s and 26" tires ...but that all can be changed easily.
        Track maybe 2x a year...
My guess is mid 500s HP.... This is going in a 4sp 69 Swinger with manual brakes and steering.
