Walmart is terrible -- or i just have extremely high expectations....

Yeah, trying to go with Walmart was the mistake. Only car stuff I buy from there is oil and filters, maybe other chemicals once in a while.

Small independent tire shops FTW. They actually need to be competent in order to stay in business. I like to order my tires off Tirerack.com then find a small local shop to get them mounted and balanced. Or research the tires I want online then buy from the shop to support their business.

I'm not going to take a picture of a tire for heavens sake. Dealers name is Gastorf Chevrolet. What's it matter anyway as your in Texas.
Ok so we were wrong. Sorry about banging on you about the MiniVan.
Did not know you had a Nova.

Carry-on

What a slap in the face for the local mom and pop tire shop. Buy tires from Tire Rack and have them mount them? I hope they charge you 3 times the price. Labor rate for tires bought elsewhere should be $150/hour. Next time you want a burger, take some hamburger into McDonalds and see if they will cook it for you. Think about it.

I'm glad you buy from your local businesses. I do the same, if we don't support the local people and they fold up then watch what you'll pay online and not to mention the shipping charges.

As far as tires goes i have a Comercial Account at Sam's Club (Wal-Mart)
I order, include the purchase the mount/balance and road hazard, send to store I pick. Get an email alert saying received. I then set up date and time to have installed.

Free repairs as well.

You're taking a trailer like that to Walmart?

That's probably your issue.
No. That semi trailer was photo evidence of my 2000 tire clean up in the backyard fairy tale

I never brought my trailer to Walmart. I just rolled in the old tires, no trailer, and denied an appointment because they were not bolted to a trailer or vehicle.

Hahaha. This thread has gone so far off rail.

Oh well

Well, these were a deal and a half. And I got annoyed Walmart.com wouldn't deliver to Walmart.

Long story short, TL;DR, I should of just bought $15 in valve stems and done it at home on the pneumatic changer.

Oh well. At least I had a chance to sit and googly-eye the summer wear walking around.

I'll bet it's one of the 1st edition 5 cylinder colorado's. Danny heard that's the perfect /6 transplant so he's been studying up on it
No slant 6 needed there. I have one with 190,000 on it. It runs like a top. 5 cylinders. I would like to see the crankshaft on that one.

Had one done last week. They marked the tire where stem was.
Dismount of tire. Put a real plug patch from inside. Remounted tire Checked on balance machine. Checked other 3 as well. Even Checked air in spare in trunk.
Guy said do you want the rotation done a little early?
I always get first rate service. But am sure it will vary by location.
I do tip, I may be a cheap SOB but take care of guys who do us right.
And guys there always tell me high when they see me, as the counter is located right by main entrance.

In the forum sure.. No need to Dm me to explain what is being discussed amongst the group

Well, he has as much right to be here as you and I do. He was just having a conversation here, like all of us, until you started feeding him ****.

Fair point, last time it was a mechanic shop for my daily's tires at least. I get pretty picky with tires, like to compare all the brands and read/watch performance tests and reviews, not just walk in and have them say "these are the right size, here ya go". If a small shop can get the exact tires I want I will buy them from there from now on.

How long have the tires been unsafe? It's not like you just found out today, right?

Put him on ignore. I don't know if that works with PM's but it's worth a try. Your choice.

You'll probably find that your local shop can't/won't get you the exact tires you're looking for. None of my local shops can so I do what you do - take the local shop the tires to mount and balance. I usually use one of two options locally and either shop is more than happy to mount and balance them up for me. I do buy tires for my pickup from them though.

I wanted some BFG T/A's for my Swinger and I didn't want to order from Summit and have someone else mount and balance. I found some at Fleet Farm, cheaper than Summit with shipping, and they did a nice job with the mounting and balancing. Nice thing about it, if I have an issue, the store is close by and the invoice is in the glove compartment.

That's why I stay with the mom and pop shops.. They take care of issues when they arise vs mail order tires.

i don't know why you wouldn't just order them up and change them at home?

ofc wallyworld ain't dicking around with some mongo trailer. they'd rather bang out half a dozen while you wait LOF jobs and ship rotations and twos-ies and crush their numbers than be tied up with some BS like that.

get real

Well, I had to chainsaw a 5" aspen up through the frame to move it.

Damn weeds.

Been a while since I needed it. I found out last month.

I've.been using the 16ft single, 24ft double, 20ft triple singles the past. 10-15 years.

Just one of those things.

I am real. My tire changer isn't setup for deep dish duals.

Anything else, yeah. I kind a wanted to capitalize on the free labor if I bought rubber through them.

All the white trash booty shorts walking around was another capitalization..,
