I scored a 426 hemi to go into my car. Now I am remember that there was some kind of a notch I would need to do to the k member as I do not own a bank and cannot afford a k member for my 67 barracuda. So can someone offer up some pics of what needs to be trimmed so i don't have to put this monster in and out several times to get it done?

Here are some pictures of an NOS Hemi K-frame that was used in a friend of mines 68 Dart. I don't have any pictures of the complete K-frame but some of these will help you out. Good Luck with your project

Are those lowering blocks at the 4 mounting points factory too? Pretty cool piece of history to see.

Yes the K-frame has 3/4” blocks welded to the frame to get the engine lower in the inner fenders. I think it has to do with the steering column clearing the head. But that’s just a guess on my part. When I put the Hemi in my 67 Barracuda I made lowering blocks and welded them

I seem to remember seeing a mopar service bulletin years back that had templates/dimensions to modify a stock K frame. Not sure how hard that would be to find on the net but its out there somewhere.

Not for hemi stuff...It's also not in my Direct Connection Chassis book. I do have some individual DC tech bulletins, but I can't put my hands on them at the moment.

                This might help.
                HEMI DART K FRAME
I have one of Al’s Debevics k frames. Just like the one pictured in this link, it comes with mounts and brackets ready to go in. I believe the steering box mount is also moved slightly moving the box closer to the rail. It’s set up to use TTI headers. ...I could take pics but I suggest buying one. Your also most likely going to need to modify the right side Fenderwell/shock tower.
Hemi in A body modifications to fenderwells?

Well as much as it pains me to say this i am going to have to just sit the hemi in a corner and leave it. Gonna go back to the Gen 3 with twins...

If you are thinking a 426 hemi dart or a 3rd gen hemi with twin turbos and can't afford a Kmember I'd say you need to spend a little more thinking the project through as a whole. For instance, the aftermarket K, while it will add some money to the project is a drop in the bucket, plus it will save you time and money and open up some options for you later when getting into headers and exhaust for either combo.

                      On the economy route....

Elephant ears place the Hemi right where it needs to be for Hemi TTi headers / OEM suspension/steering. Simply follow their directions...with pictures for most of us.

Offset master cylinder mount a must.

Notch the K for oil pan clearance like most big block builds.

The only really expensive piece are the TTis. The rest is your time.

Well you talked me into it.. Having the fender wells cut out and adding the roll cage with coil overs to the engine compartment for clearance. Also a little mod on the steering column as the driver head hits it. going forward.

That plan was for a 3 gen hemi and not the real one.
