This was 5 years ago hauling in the '76 D100 parts truck.

Now: New radiator, multiple new hoses, new power brake booster, new starter, lube suspension, grease driveshaft, flush and change coolant, top off all fluids, new air filter. Clean AC Condenser, Transmission Cooler, and Power Steering Cooler.

Starts like a dream and no more coolant leaks. That is one big *** radiator, keeps it cool all the time.

Ready for the next round trip.

Getting the loose end details wrapped up in the bay. I debated on whether or not to paint it because I don't have a compressor/gun set up, but with the engine out it became a no-brainer. I stripped it down to metal, as well as the inner wheel wells, core support, etc..and rattlecanned it. 2k epoxy primer then 2k hemi orange. Not a pro job, but looks pretty damn good to me and a definite improvement over the 52 year old paint / grease and nastiness.
This is my first and LAST project, and I'm so glad I took the journey. At some point I'm going to put together pictures and/or video of where it started and the "almost finished" product.. "Almost finished" because I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to afford getting the whole car painted.
I did the interior myself. I did the suspension.. I did all of it ( a lot with great advice and help from the members here ) except the the initial body work and paint done on the roof, deck lid, tail panel and quarters.. To a lot of you, a project is no big deal...you've done many..but to me it's an accomplishment that I'm actually proud of.
Engine sounds good and fairly healthy and I can't wait to drive it...!

Got the leaf springs installed (used the factory top leaf and the rest super stock, no factory clamps, 2 on the right front and 1 on the left)

Mounting the line lock under the master.

Took my grandson for a two hour drive. Couldn’t wipe the smile off his face every time I kicked the four barrel in.

This wasn't today, but last week. Took Vixen over to Freddie's so we could put her on the lift and locate all the exhaust leaks. I WAS gonna come back home, jack her up and weld them up myself, but Freddie insisted on doing it for me. We got every stinkin one welded up and I also repositioned one of the V band clamps on one of the collectors and got it sealed up, too. She sounds REALLY good, now. I'd post a video, but my camera has such crappy audio it still sounds like infected dog butt. I'm open for suggestions for a new video camera....maybe with a microphone jack or a removable mic?

Well we got the avatar to the track as planned - Orlando Speedworld. This was our first time at this track - wanted to give it a try even though it's a 2 hour tow. Sure glad we went...

Had a GREAT day - took the car all the way to the winner's circle in the Sportsman class! And along the way, with the great air, set a new personal best et at 11.07. And of course, without pics it didn't happen so here they are... (car is #6020)

Congratulations!! Thatsvgetting down the track in fine fashion, love thec1.5 60ft time

Finished a 2 day project. Replaced KYB front shocks with some RCD Bilsteins and shortened my existing front swaybar end links. Today I replaced the KYB rear shocks for some RCD Bilstein shocks and a 7/8" G Max rear swaybar. Went for a nice long test ride on some curvy back roads, what a difference. Not night and day, but handles so much better. I have stock leaf springs which leave a lot to be desired, so when I got home I ordered some Hotchkis 24385 Geometry Correcting rear leaf springs. I got a killer deal on Amazon $490, compared to $550 from Summit.

Stripped the 50+ year buildup of grime, surface rust and road history off the driveshaft.. 2k epoxy then VHT RollBar and Chassis paint.
I debated on whether to leave it natural and spray it with clear coat or painting it. I've read where some say it was natural from factory and some say it was painted....who knows. Mine seemed to be a factory black, but I could be wrong.
Turned out decent...I'm happy with it, so that's that..! I didn't want paint in the holes where the u-joints go so I used some rubber plugs that fit perfectly.
Also stripped and painted my charcoal canister bracket.. 2k epoxy and 2k satin black.
Scuffed new gas tank for paint. I'm going to try this Seymour Stainless-Steel or Cast Iron for top coat...Has anyone used that..? Or, if you've used a paint on your tank you're happy with, let me know.
Installed new battery to starter cable...someone in the past had cut the original and it was too short to go into the firewall clip / hanger.

I got the rebuilt Z-Bar and clutch pedal linkage installed. This &%$*%#@^ spring clip was the most difficult part of the whole process. After ruining one clip (bent all to hell!!), I finally got one on. I really can't tell you how it happened; at some point I just got lucky.

Painted the new tank...and it looks pretty good. Not sure what others paint their tank with, but I used Seymour Stainless-Steel. Time will tell how durable it is.

Took my front factory ralleye wheels to get media blasted earlier this week, then painted and clar coated them. Today, took the wheels and new Cooper Cobras to the Air Force Base Auto Hobby Shop to use the equipment to mount and balance them. It's great having access to be able to do it yourself. Now all four are new Coopers. Here's a before pic of the front wheel before Blasting and painting and after on the car.
