My brother-in-law needs to find out what carb(CFM) should he be running? Should the intake be upgraded as well?

360
284/284 lift .484/.484 dur
10.5 to 1 speced pistons
J head with 191 and 202 valves
Edlebrock Performer intake

Not sure on any further details on the heads. Some work done.

Not enough info, what stall, car weight, heads ported, headers, gear, race/street/strip or street,

I would go with a good holley 750cfm, maybe a double pumper if he plans to beat it, otherwise a vacuum carb is a lil more street freindly. Look into something like a 750cfm holley HP, a Proform, or a Quick Fuel Tech. sounds like a stout lil motor, oughta be fun.

70 Dart, headers, stock stall, I don't recall the rear gearing. Its a 8 3/4 suregrip. I would guess at 3.55. Its a street car

Thanks.

Would an aftermarket stall converter be worth the investment over say a better carb?

if he already has a 4 bbl in good working shape than yes a stall in the 3 to 3,800 rpm range would be money better spent. That 484 cam is large with its 239 @.050 duration and comes alive at about 3k in a small block.

I'm with El5Demon and would also say get a RPM over the performer.
