Sorry, I misread your original post. Ok, but I’ll have to disagree on the calculators or charts being for drag racing vs street as it’s more about a balanced, matched combo that is dialed in, and “hooks” Any of that can be done with either type of car. If you’re saying a street car is different IMO it’s likely something is not ideal is all, that’s not meant as a negative or inferring it’s a bad combo. Let’s say “not optimized” I spent a lot of time trying to optimize my deal for the track all the while keeping street friendly. I’m still tweaking but, putting our stuff aside, He’s intending on running at the track, he’s got 4.10’s, drag radials iirc, a 3000 stall, lower weight, and all else seems pretty matched to me but for the single plane, not a deal killer depending on cam, but we have no idea where the power really starts and ends. By the way, when I was drag racing in the late 70's at Gainesville, I was a terrible driver, so whatever it runs may not be the car's fault
Worse case,( stock 383 with a cam and headers, stock distributor curves, low compression.....not 10:1, 3000 stall that probable only stalls 2700 RPM) 13.30s Simple thing, like Re curving dist to get 18-20 degrees of timing at idle with out advancing it past 36 total, finding the best shift points, jetting carb to that combo. You now have a 12 sec combo. My guess is as much of a guess as any ones. AND IT DON'T REALLY MATTER.................... The hole thing of drag racing is running what you got, an finding ways to make it faster. My 35 year project was taking a stock 318-276 geared 3800 pound car from high 19S to the current 11.87 ET with high compression 408 strocker. Who knows i may have a 10 sec car before they throw dirt on my ass. It's not about the Destination, IT'S "ALL" ABOUT THE JOURNEY!!!!!
One thing is certain........ nothing anyone thinks it will run, or posts on this thread, will have any bearing on what the car actually runs at the track.
Well...... I do know one way to get there. But that’s probably not the only way. While I won’t say the OP’s combo running 11’s is “impossible”...... I would put it in the “highly improbable” category. The MPH will tell the tale of how close to the 11’s it is.
This can be a pretty big factor....... especially when it’s a std trans car. I was watching some youtoob videos the other day. One was a track rental day at Cecil County. One of the cars there was a 69 SuperBee with a 500” stroker, ported RPM heads, hyd roller, 6bbl, headers, 4 speed, drag radials. There were several runs in the 14’s.
Seems big blocks are a waste..... according to this thread, my shot 360 in a much heavier truck, with less of everything including arrow dynamics is faster. I think maybe I should stick to small blocks. Wanna buy a cheap big block ??
Our 383 in my '68 Fury III 4 door. 100% factory stone-stock long block including cam, but the intake and carb replaced (dual plane). NO headers, 100% stone stock torque converter and transmission, 3.55's went 14.7's at 4350 lbs at the start line.
I love my Duster, I think it so cool with Road Runner engine in it (at least the size of the RR engine). I agree with what Cudafever said, that making it faster is part of the fun. Never the less, it will be interesting what it runs first time out. I still have some things to fix and improve before I go, so we shall see. Thanks again for all the interesting replies.
WOW That is fast in a big ole boat! I posted on another thread the back in the late '70s my daily driver was 1978 Volare Super Coupe with the E58 360 and 727. I had headers and rejetted T-Quad, best I ever ran at Gainsville was 16.02.

I think since 318will has already cracked the 12’s with his 360 Duster, the obvious next step is to show everyone how easy it is to get an A body from the 12’s, and make the leap from there into the 11’s.
