I just did this two weeks ago. Filled the tank with non-ethynol premium and used Stabil. Topped off all of the fluids and aired up the tires. I also stuck a floating battery tender on it. We occasionally get decent days during the winter and I am always ready to go. Last January 6th, it reached almost 60 degrees on a Sunday so we got the cars out and ran down the highway for a beer. Got home and put her back to sleep for another 8 weeks.

interesting I always run non-ethanol but I always felt that kept me from having to use stable.. I also put it in all my lawn equipment..

I just got out of the shower after using irish springs soap. Now my wife is pissed off cause we have mice in our bathroom.
Now on another note each time I mentioned jack stands I was only talking of 1/2 to 1 inch from static height. No way would I hang the tires off the ground.

Driving. I don't bother. It gets really cold here at times, but if the sun is out I'll try to get the car out even if it's cold.

Maybe I missed something but why wouldn't the tires be off the ground or why would it matter??..

Well I figured I also should tell ya that due to the Ohio E.P.A. the northern counties of Ohio can only sell ethanol blended gasoline except for marinas but that's many miles from home and they do not like for cars to come there. No facilities for a car. That's why I love Sta-Bil 360 marine. It keeps the gasoline from separating and turning to shit.

              J Par,
You do not want weight either pulling or pushing on the bushings in the suspension.
I let my 36 coupe sit for 1 1/2 years and it pushed all the bushings out of the four bar suspension.

I'm just asking because I've let my card Dangle on jack stands all winter and didn't think nothing of it. Thank you for explaining your reasoning... I'm really messed up because I put the jack stands under the rear axle which puts full load and put the jack stands under the front frame rails which completely unloads the front..:realcrazy::D...

I have seen cars that set outside for 10 20 30 years on their tires some of them went flat some of them held air for all those years. The suspension did not blow out any of the bushings on those vehicles.
So what is the deal? Are these newfangled bushings blowing out from your vehicle just sitting around for a while? If so I think I'd go back to the original rubber ones.

That is one of the kindest things anybody has posted on this thread.
You run the little boogers off with the moth balls and then when he gets all tuckered out you set him up a nice cool sweet tasting drink.

I keep driving my Duster in winter but when it comes to mice that's a fairly constant problem especially during changes of season. I personally wouldn't try repellants to keep the mice out of my car, I have had them get in and I just kill the damn things with good traps. The old-school wooden ones only work on adult mice, baby ones aren't heavy enough to trip them; I get the plastic white ones I think they're "Tom-Cat" brand, also I put a small dab of Nutella on there they go CRAZY for that stuff, it's like crack-cocaine form of peanut butter since it's very nutty but also sugary. I'd just place a few traps on the ground around the car and maybe one or two inside (obviously don't forget about them, gotta check every couple days).

I've found that mice tend to have "families", once you kill off the whole family you won't get any more for a while. At least around here, plus we have 2 outdoor cats that catch everything around our house. The poison is good to place around corners and entrances to the garage, don't want them dying in some hard-to-reach spot and making your garage smell rotten.

One of my dogs is a good mouser, he keeps them under control for the most part, I may keep my Dart on the road next winter, depending on how well or if it's running by then, we get frequent spells of mild weather over the winter and I'm not going to worry about rust.

Wash entire vehicle, lube everything - esp. the plastics. Drain gas and flush with diesel, fog engine while cranking with sea foam spray or similar, unload valve springs, drain oil, remove your nice battery and put in your DD.

I only do it because I don't trust what they tell me is down in that tank. Yes, it's supposed to be non-ethynol premium fuel but who really knows? Better safe than sorry.

I always claimed to have a pretty cynical mind but...
