Which cam? Hughes? Comp? Lunati?

I think cams are over-thought. Let us go back to the real racing; cheap racing, fun racing.
All it involved was a 10.5 cr factory engine, and a purple stripe. If you had gears, and had a shift kit- un-touchable.

Today- people put all kinds of $ in the car. The old school cheap basic car will surprise everybody.
 
This is true. Used to work for a over analytical race engine builder.Get carried away.....
 
I put that Comp cam in my 440. I got the whole kit from Summit. I have 9.5-1 pistons and surfaced the heads, so my compression may be higher than yours. Yesterday I ran a 12.68 at 104mph. My car is a Dart with too small of tires and 390 gears. The motor seems to run out of steam at about 5600 but, I am still sorting out some carb issues.
