Which way to install oil seal for rotor??

Sorry for stupid question. I checked fsm(see pic) and can't figure out which way the #6840S seal installs on the rear of the rotor? Factory 69 KH setup.

You got it right in the first picture- seal facing inward toward the grease, spring on the inside. Isn't it a ***** to get old? Good luck.

That’s how I’d install it Steve....like Murray said....in fact now that I think about it that’s how I did it to.

Think how the Hoover dam is made. It leans back against the water. A seal does the same thing. Look how it's leaning in your first and last picture of the seal. It's made to keep the grease IN. Just like the Hoover dam holding back "what's left" of Lake Mead.

I know this isn't exactly what you have but its the same principle. This is what I mean by metal side out. The rubber part is facing in towards the bearings

You cannot always go by "metal side" (not necessarily what we are discussing here) because some seals have reversed lips for some applications. Also certain types of seals, the metal is sort of a "box" design, there is no obvious "hollow"

The "lip" always faces in. Any pressure on the seal just makes it seal tighter.

Ok another seal question. Looks like the fsm is showing "teflon seal" between hub and dust shield??
I'm tempted to use n cut a sill gasket?

That is a dirt/dust shield seal. Likely that you will not be able to find a new one.
Did you hand pack the bearings full ?

Lip ALWAYS faces the fluid.

Also it is best to put some of the lube on the seal lip before install and make sure surface that seal rides on is smooth and nick/burr free or seal will not last.

Made one outta sill gasket.
Got hub n rotor installed. Nothing is tightened or torqued yet. Entire front end will need torquing. I used bearing packer. You still get messy, but not up to my elbows anymore lol.
Issues with KH caliper mount bolts now, look too long? Maybe needs washers?? Lol
Oh and anti-rattle sitting up waaayyy high. No "anti" rattle going on there lol.

That is a dirt/dust shield seal. Likely that you will not be able to find a new one.

Is this just a refresh of your existing brakes or are you doing a conversion ?
Anti rattle springs are not seated correctly.
Bolt does not look like a caliper mount bolt. They go into blind hole according to your FSM picture. Did you do a mock up of all the parts to be sure you have all the correct parts and try fitting everything before you started ?
What is the whole story here?

I'm doing a factory conversion. Car initially had drums on front. I bought complete setup. I rebuilt calipers. Bolts are 7/16"-20. 1 3/4" long.
FSM doesn't mention squat about these bolts, but you can see in the pic it looks like there should be a washer?? The bolts I bought are repops from a member here. I dont recall ever having the originals.
Now looking at the factory parts manual, I see the 2 bolts, BUT it doesnt list them for Barracuda?? And the ones listed are only 1 1/8" long?
The anti rattle clips are Centric #117.91025

Toss that bearing packer, replace it with this one. I had one of them double funnels, messy and a waste of grease. I use the heaviest grease i can buy. Usually shell.

To pack bearing i set it in my drill press, and just use the chuck/press part to push. Not weak or lazy, i just think its way easier.

Pack the grease in the palm of your hand and save the money. Use a latex/rubber glove. Just remember how a rear main seal works next time and you have it figured.
