Who has painted their engine with a spray gun?

Did you thin it? 5-10% with their Thinner or Xylene? Both are ecommended thinners for KBS Motor Coater when spraying or brushing.
The cleaner/prep wipe they sell looks like stuff i already have on hand. Yes I know its best to use the whole system.
I already clean with same stuff used on body and and etch PPG DX579 and clean again. Saw where guys used their stuff on YouTube sure looked like and same stuff we use at the body shop, with exception of xylene.

We did not thin it. Shot it straight from the can. I cleaned the engine using Prepsol before paint.

That is a nice, tangy orange. Was the paint priced fairly? Catalyzed enamel, right?

Rustolium with acetone for thinner and "Japan" hardener. We sell the same stuff at work under the Magic brand. I'm sure I only paid $10 for the quart or something like that. It's now $24 a quart on Amazon.

Me too; runs like a scalded dog and yes I drive it on the street. Best ET of 11.0 at 121 mph.

That contraption is well worth cutting a big hole in the roof, eye candy!!!!!!!

we used epoxy primer and s high solids single stage urathane paint out of a gun got the motor in the dart. painted it in 2015 and still looks as good as the day we painted it. we have done quite a few motors the same way and all have held up very well.
