i'm gathering stuff to put jamies dart together and i need clamps for the rad hoses and heater hoses. the ones at the local places are pretty much garbage any more.. who sells good hose clamps these days??

thanks in advance.

Joe.. I like to use the original type , constant tension clamps on my Mopars. Other than that, I use a good quality stainless worm clamp, from someone like Carquest, Federated, Napa.

I go to:
McMaster-Carr
and search:
Worm-Drive Clamps for Soft Hose and Tube

I use these frequently and don't have near as many issues as I do with store-bought clamps. The ones made for a 'soft' hose also have a long tail that protects the hose beneath. Good luck!

In the case of worn screw clamps, my best application example... Shallow bore well 63 feet deep. 1 horse pump, making 55 psi. , with remote injector ( hunk of cast iron and a short tail pipe and foot valve ) dangling from 2 lengths of hard plastic pipe about 60 feet down. You don't use a automotive grade clamps there. You go to plumbing supply and buy heavy duty all stainless clamps.
Then again automotive sees what ? about 18 psi. If my vehicle is going to see extremely high pressure for some reason, a hose clamp would be my choice of failure location. No other part of the system is less expensive to replace.
And just mentioning, Other owners have reported problems with the OEM type spring wire clamps because reproduction hoses often have less than OEM wall thickness.

Mubea makes the best spring style clamps, but I can't find them in the aftermarket, only OEM...

Mopar wants $5 for one heater hose clamp.... :icon_fU:

I like the spring style and the shrink to fit is good if you dont want to take it apart next weekend. The heat shrinkers have a website that shows the worm clamp style is worse than the springs when they heat cycle.

Rob, the Gates PowerGrip. Do you have to cut them off? So you could be out both the clamp and the hose if your knife slipped?

I used the Ideal clamps & covered them with heat shrink. I prefer the clamps blend in with the hoses....
