WOW!!!! I hope this doesn't come true

My local track Keystone is open for racing for the first time this weekend after a couple car limited test n tuned (15 cars). I think it’s a big mistake but he is having two 5000.00 dollar races this weekend with 250.00 per race entry fees. A little rich for my blood for my first time out of the year so I will wait.

Looks like Vegas is gonna be open for a midnight mayhem 6/26/20.

drive thru the protest crowds just to see what a reaction you would get
When you say drive thru you do mean drive around, nut litterally thru the protesters. Be carefully of your answer the FBI might come knocking on your door for the wrong one, ( thank you thought police)

The flu kills thousands every year. Even those not a high risk. If the media didn’t blow it out of proportion it would be no different than any other year

I have to disagree.

But let me explain...

In 2018 the flu killed 80,000 in the US alone (iirc) agreed it was no big deal, just life as we know it.

This virus seems to be more lethal, in many cases 4 or 5 days from symptoms to death.

I do believe the media is sensationalizing the situation like they do every other thing.

I for one would rather take personal precautions, than end up in the ER or morgue.

I do believe there are factions of the powers that be that subscribe to the theory of " don't let a good crisis go to waste" and are experimenting with our freedoms.

Look like military will be making their way to DC to help out. Protesters jumping the fence trying ti get to the President. Crazy times !

Some of you gloom and Sooners are all fudged up over this Coronavirus. Sure I took care in what I did and do but i refuse to live the life of a hermit. I’m old (64), fat, ugly, out of shape, heart attack in 1999 and lost 1/4 of my heart, and this crap will not control me. I was out in the food lines last Saturday passing out milk and milk products donated by local farmers with my church friends.

isn't he the one that had the video plastered all over the internet saying the virus wasn't as big of deal as they were saying and claiming it was all a political thing and that he was opening no matter what anyone thought or said?

I answered that above.

That is one way to see it.
Another is that strong minded individuals will be even harder to fool next time.

Yeah but , the dam stuff is highly contagious , unless some body comes up with something that kicks its *** after u have it , and a effective inoculation , it could change out way of life forever . Hope not !

And I can post up facts where the numbers are cooked. It’s a flu. It’s not any more of a killer, or any more contagious than any other flu. I’ll say it again. My kid had it. Had it during his 18th birthday. Had it in NOVEMBER before anyone knew what it was. My wife got it after him. I should have gotten it. I have comorbidity issues. In fact, I suppress my immune system, so I SHOULD have gotten it. Either hydroxychloroquine works, or the flu I had in February 2019 (which neither my son nor wife caught) made me immune to this flu.

At any rate, if you have such short term memory issues that you can’t see how many times the medical “experts” have either been wrong or lied you need to review the recent past history on this.

The Canadian scientists think they have an effective vaccine. It was just given the go ahead for human testing. It worked on ferrits who supposedly have a respiratory system similar to humans. This is supposedly the same team that developed the vaccine for Ebola. Yes let's hope it works.

Technically it’s a virus.

Wonder if someone in government threatened Summit and that's the reason for the alleged not opening this season. Ridiculous situation any way you look at it.

Yes but if you notice this is referred to as a virus and never as a Flu leading to its manmade. But then again anyone with a brain knows this.

It’s the FLU John. No more contagious or lethal than any other flu.

When we told my rheumatologist that my wife and kid had it, he went wild. Wanted to know why we didn’t protect ourselves, didn’t at least get me to a motel or something so I didn’t get it, wash our hand more...all that crap.

Then we told him it was in November and January that they had it, and he was stunned. I had a video appointment with him may 12th. He said he did some research into this “corona virus” and he is now convinced it’s not more lethal than any other flu.

He still expects us to use high caution but not to live in a box. So even my doctor had to change his understanding of what this is, and that’s the flu.

I think NHRA dropped the hammer on him. Just one reason of many I won’t join the NHRA again.

-- I guess that it's just another kind of the flu. -- Apparently quite contagious. -- All I know is that over 100,000 People have died, as of Yesterday. -- I suppose that those numbers are inflated, but that's still a lot of people that have died that didn't have to, for that reason. -- I didn't realize that it was around in November. - How did You know that it was Covid-19 ? -- -- BTW, I don't agree with all of the reaction, by The Government. - Shutting business down etc. -- Sorry for hijacking the Dragstrip discussion.

Because the wife and kid both had to be tested. The hospital had records of every visit. They had no idea what it was in November.

That’s how we know for a fact they had it.

A MESSAGE FROM BILL BADER JR.

While planning what was to be a standout season of racing at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio, the Coronavirus hit.

Our country halted and hunkered down, and yet, I was hopeful that I would be able to open, as soon as possible, the facility that has been the source of pride and passion for my family for more than 50 years.

I was prepared to do whatever I needed to do to ensure that every guest who came through our gates would be safe while still experiencing everything that has helped Summit Motorsports Park stand out in the motorsports industry for so many years.

I was eager to present the fast cars and fireworks, the entertainment and excitement, and most of all, “The Norwalk Experience.” My team wanted the same.

I was confident that this year’s offerings, including the highly anticipated 43rd Annual Kelly Night Under Fire, would help us reach record attendance as we have so many times before.

But it was becoming apparent that I was not going to be able to accomplish all of that, as our country was still so adversely affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

While faced with trying to produce events that would not, under current circumstances, hold up to the high standards that I set years ago when I took over the family business from my father, I was well aware that we had already lost 83 percent of our revenue for the year, and we wouldn’t be able to make the money we need to make to successfully sustain operations if we opened. In fact, we would lose money, and I can’t responsibly take that financial risk.

So I decided that I owed it to Summit Motorsports Park racers, race fans, sponsors and supporters to cancel this season, and start planning to make the 2021 season the most magnificent and monumental yet.

The majority of my team — whom, like you, I consider to be family — is laid off, so please be patient as I work to regroup and plan a most remarkable rebound that will show racers, race fans, sponsors and supporters why we’re America’s Racetrack.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for your support and for standing by me, my family, my team and Summit Motorsports Park in these turbulent and trying times. Here’s to a tremendous 2021 together.

May God Bless you and your family and God Bless America!

— Bill Bader Jr., President of Summit Motorsports Park

I know this isn't a Rona virus thread, but one thing to consider. The death numbers are skewed. Not at all accurate. The hospitals are getting kickbacks for virus related deaths. Now sit and think about that.
