You know what kind of car guy I hate...

-
I hate flippers. If you dont want the damn car pass on it and let the right person get it for the right price. I saw a piece of **** coronet for 3k that the guy bought for under a grand. PLLLEEEAse. pull your head out of your *** is what i wanted to tell him.

The kind that just sells parts!
That guy that we all know in the area that has a stash of parts (this guy is NOTHING like our parts selling brothers like RPM and the artist formerly known as C-strips, they kick *** and are the total opposite of the asshat that I am talking about here! ) and asks so mush for them that even with the "buddy discount" you just want to laugh at him when he tells you how much he wants for it because you know that with a little searching you can find it for way cheaper somewhere else "you want HOW much for a (insert name of small part that you would find at a swapmeet in the $1 or less bin)!?!?!.
This is the same guy that may have some cool kickass B or E body in the garage but he NEVER takes it out because it is ssssssooooooooo rare and loaded with options that he can't take the chance of it getting a speck of dust on it....even though it's in primer, rusty, not all there and he couldn't get it out of the garage even if he wanted to because of all the crap piled around it!
This is the guy that an A-body would never be an option to own/drive but seeing as how they are so cheap and there is a demand for parts he will buy every one he can find or strip all the parts off as soon as it shows up at the local yard just to resale. This is the same guy that joins a forum dedicated to a certain type of car, doesn't have any posts other than for sale ads and is such an expert on everything because no one else knows how to do it the right way.

I also hate those assholes that ride their gay little bikes in traffic....ok I hate them more that the parts guy!

*Rant off...for now*

I bought some parts from a guy in Bremerton that had a challenger in his garage just like you describe J.R. Not to mention the parts I bought from him weren't what he said they where when I got the home.

I almost forgot scott "rpm" I still have the taillights and will find the right car for em You are one I almost forgot, you are a good....scratch that GREAT GUY to deal with thank you!
I feel your hurt bro, they hurtin the hobby and look out if they want to buy parts from you,I cant sell parts as cheap as I want to anymore because when I need something it is going to hurt,Did we leave dusterdood out he's a class act and a great person to deal with and oldschoolcuda is one heluva guy also! Thanks Mike and bruce you guy's ROCK! Oh and veotom!!!!Thank You!and Cstripes is now j mac's mopars and is a kewl card!!!!If i forgot anybody(I'm forgetful) or did I forget to remember that???

good rant!!!! I totally agree with you. i find up here in Canada you get a lot of those people because for some reason they think that because they're in Canada, the parts are so much more rare then anywhere else.

We have them here on the Westcoast. The main thing that bugs me is that by the time I get home from work and see the ad, they have already bought the item and then dbl to trpl the price.Ahh well back to searching the ads

unfortunatley i have a few friends like that. they are always eyeing your parts, but they never want to part with a thing. or they want to retire off of you. i have learned to not even ask about parts from some of these people. but then again. i have met some great people that will give you a great deal if you are going to actually use the stuff. i got 2 brand new, in the box wheel vintiques steelies for free. because i was going to use them on the wagon.

Thanks for the complement JR.

Devil,

I can't agree with you on this. I have found cars that were places that no one else wants to go (dangerous places) and have pulled them somewhere civilized and sold them. I understand your frustration, but how many people do you know that are willing to drive hours upon hours to find cars? I have spent who knows how many hours and gallons of fuel scouting. All of that takes money. I have brought many cool cars to the surface that likely would have never been found. That includes two HEMI cars and some other very rare cars. I can tell you that one of the HEMI cars I found and bought was a known car, but everyone just thought it was a rusty 70 runner. I was the first one to look at the vin and know what it was. I bought the car in 2002. It had sit in the same spot since 1976. Yes, I made money on it. Good for me. I did my homework. Who knows how many people bought parts off of the car or seen it and didn't do anything about it. How many people do you know that are willing to go to the Indian Reservations and scout for cars where your hated in many cases? I have spent lots of time on the rez. I have been threatened with my life down there over cars. Yet I still go back. Is it all for money, NO! It is fun. But it costs allot of money. There are some people that do it for a living, but know that it's not all fun and games. There are some cars that we have lost our *** on because of other issues. We picked up a 69 Javalin for free once, well. It ended up costing over a grand. We had to hit the brakes real hard and the car moved. It busted the winch, so here we are with a three place trailer 800 miles from home and can't load anything else on the trailer. So the free part is no longer free. So lets say you buy a car for $500. It has no tires or wheels and is practically sunk to the doors. Is that car really only $500? Most of us so called "flippers" will sell the car with wheels and tires that hold air. Even if the tires are junk. It still costs $100 for wheels and tires. Now you got to dig the car out of the dirt and put tires on it. That takes a few hours. Not sure how much your time is worth. Then you load it on the trailer. That takes a few minutes, but brings me to something else. The equipment. That all costs money to buy and maintain. And what about the fuel, food, travel time. So that $500 car still ends up costing $1000, so to sell it and make a profit, you have to ask $2000 so that you can negotiate.
I know there are those people that are really crazy when it comes to their prices. But you have to understand the otherside of things before you decide that you hate them. Its hard work to find, buy, and sell cars. You think the guys selling the cars are crazy. You should meet some of the people that want to buy them. WOW!!!! Start trying to sell some cars and you will see what crazy really is.

Hope you all have a good CHRISTmas!

i,m not always right. but do you screw the hell out of the next buyer? i hate the screwers like i said 3k for a 1k car

Thanks for the complement JR.

dont argue with the devil lol. thats what you called me.

That depends. I bought the HEMI runner for $50. I sure as heck wasn't going to sell it for that. When all was said and done. I had about $200 into it and sold it to a guy in Florida for $5000. But, it was a real R code 4 spd car. I am not one to sell a car for way above market value. But if I get the car for free. I will still get what I can. I also will help people out too. If I know you and I have something you need and I don't (and your local). Lots of times I will give it to them.

I know, but I was just pointing out that some of the people that get labeled as a "flipper" actually work hard for what they do. There are those guys that need a brick to the side of the head too. Mostly the ones that have factory 440 HEMI Chryslers. They are the worst.

a factory 440 HEMI scamp. I think there was one of those parked next to the Dart R/T.

I hate Corvette guy/douchebag! You know who I am talking about, we've all seen him before. He's the guy that pulls up to the car show in his brand new vette and lines up next to like type d-bags and shows a car that you can walk down to any craprolet dealer and see. Dildooooo!

Seeing a few threads about 2 of our members I just thought that this deserved a huge BUMP...

thats nice i saw u agreed that i should be banned i'm not a parts peddler i'm a hobbist that has lover mopars for 32 years working building them for 20 years i know u don't like me because of my prices..i seek out the rare and different parts to collect for my projects but we are in tough times and like everyone else i had to sell a few i know u and ur buddy are thick as thieves and thats why ur pride gets in the way to make a deal on the edelbrock d66 there is nothing wrong with the intake......color ...hell get cudachick to recoat it i contacted her but i guess she dosen't want my business because of all the slander my previous threads have brought from a certain moderator..fyi i'm an honest guy who loves the mopar family and would do anything to help someone else but i'm not going to give away a rare rare item i'm sorry u have bad feelings toward me because of someone else take care and good luck with ur project.......superdart340

Missed this thread on the first go round, thanks for bumping it to the top. It's just like when the movie studios re-release the Oscar contending movies.

Asshats.... that word makes me laugh, I will try and use it in context tomorrow. I'll let you all know how it goes for me.

I can't stand those idiots who ride their friggin bikes in rush hour traffic in the middle of the freaking road with a line of cars behind them for a mile.

Happened to me once and the idiots refused to move over and kept looking back smiling with an evil grin so finally I got to a point on a gravel road where I had room to get around them so I dropped the van in low gear and punched it as I passed throwing gravel all over the place.

I never looked back and I hope the idiots both lost and eyeball and a few teeth.

You may be a hobbyist who personally is a great guy and has a cool car but you ARE a parts peddler! I don't care what your prices are, hell I will buy a part just to mark up and sell for a profit at the swap meets but with in reason!
I run into so many guys doing auto appraisals that say things like "Well I have this much into it so it is worth this much".....no it isn't. There is a little thing called fair market value it pertains to everything from cars, parts, houses, property, the going rate of a gallon of milk, to how much my tattoo artist charges per hour! People that come up with a price that is so out there for anything without doing their research to see what the going rate (they are called comparables and you need to find more than one) is will and do get laughed at and called names plain and simple! Do a search and see how many threads are started about one Frank Mitchell and you will see because to me you, moparcrazy and Frank Mitchell are the same type of person.

I didn't agree that you two should be banned because I don't like your prices I agreed that you two should be banned because of all the constant bullshit that has followed the both of you and the reputations that you both have gotten since you both joined the site!

I hate that guy who parks his car at the gas pump and goes inside to shop for snacks, go to the bathroom, browse, talk, like he's the only one getting gas. And then they walk out and see the line a mile long behind them and get a surprised look on their face:shock: when they realize people are waiting.

His part, his price. No discussion is needed unless your buying it.
